And it's not just Snyder. The Spider-Man movies fast-tracked to Venom and killing off Gwen. Captain America did Winter Soldier after one movie. The Avengers went from origin to Ultron to Civil War. These companies want to hit the big popular stories as quickly as possible.

Yeah but you got to admit, Marvel has put in a lot more time into their universe before hitting the big names. WB seems like they are in a much bigger rush to get the big names out there.

They are, but everybody wants to put out their "Best Of" albums instead of doing a slow series to match the slow build of the comics.

Hell, the Flash TV series had a Crisis on Infinite Earths teaser in the pilot episode.

But this ISN'T some alternate universe, or at least shouldn't be. You introduce that after your established one is in place. I'd LOVE a Flashpoint movie! But you don't begin your god damned DCU with Flash having no powers and Thomas Wayne as a psycho Batman...

C'mon...

It was so fricking stupid. Seriously, why the frick would you start off the DCEU with "The Dark Knight Returns" and "The Death of Superman"? If I was in that boardroom, I'd tell Goyer and Snyder they lost their fricking minds simply from a storytelling perspective. The only reason they went with those stories is that they're the most popular stories that they're in.

If they were going to do something like this, then you'd have to have it like 10 years down the line like Marvel did with Civil War. Certainly not straight out of the gate. This movie may be the biggest disaster from start to finish in studio history due to how much money is on the line.

Why does Batman say he failed Superman in life?

He hated Superman a day before that. He did not kill superman and could not have stopped Doomsday. Now he feels indebted to this guy? There was barely any trust built between these two. They were not life long friends or even team mates for very long. Forced emotions like this ran rampant throughout the movie. Snyder just plucks different iterations of the characters throughout time and mashed them together. That's not how this works, sir.

He realized that they could've been allies instead of enemies. He knows that Luthor built on his hate to use him. He knows that Alfred was right.

And by the way, what a fantastic idea to start the DC Universe off with the Dark Knight Returns and the Death of Superman.

It would be like if the X-Men movies started off with Old Man Logan

For those that liked the film, would you say it was better than Man of Steel or Superman Returns?

A better story than both of those movies. I didn't walk out of this movie hating the story choices, as I did with Superman Returns and Man of Steel.

I just saw it. Went it expecting the worst and was surprised that I liked it.

Hearing people say how terrible it was and how it was the worst movie they ever seen, I was expecting it to be garbage but it was not close to either of those to me.

I liked it a little more than man of steel. I wasn't a huge fan of superman returns.

It was much more boring than Superman Returns, which was pretty slow itself.

However, I enjoyed Superman Returns waaaaaay more because it had a Superman and Clark Kent who were at least recognizable to me.

It's down to 74% BTW.

ETA: Which is already lower than Man of Steel.

This movie was a comvoluted mess. I still was ok with it to a certain degree and was somewhat entertained, but what awful storytelling. Just...what?

That was the lamest reason for him to stop just as he's about to kill Superman.

If I was in the writers room and they asked how they'd stop Batman from killing Superman, I'd shout that out as a joke. That was really when I began to crack in this movie.

I suspect Martha will soon become a meme.

Just got back from watching.

First, I liked it. But I totally understand how others wouldn't or how it falls short for some.

The beginning was hard to follow as it was kind of boring (1st 30 mins or so).

It picked up for me, when the meeting blew up. After that, I was really into it.

Gal Gadot was good, Aflek was good, and I thought Eisenberg missed on the menacing and went into annoying.

I want to see it again, but overall, I don't feel I wasted $8. I just feel like they are trying to catch up to Avengers all in one movie and it fell short.
