You mean that time you had terrible planning and knocked your wife up with a due date smack dab in the middle of hurricane season? Yeah......we 'member.

Yeah that's my bro-in-law for you.
I think Duvall made the damn film. Not that everyone else was bad. But... It's ROBERT DUVALL!

Got a 54 on metacritic, unfortunately. Maybe I should temper my expectations? I'm not surprised given the fact that review embargo lifted 3 days before release.

Oh no. You called me a pussy. Anyway...
Again, you are flat out making stuff up. Nowhere does it say she was put in charge of border security, and nowhere is it a part of official duties of vice president, which is whay this impeachment is trying to asseet. I get that you want this to be true. But just because you want something to be true doesn't make it so. If it were part of what she was tasked with, you'd be able to point to a primary source that says so.

And it has nothing to do with enforcement at the southern border. It doesn't matter how much you want that to be true, repeating a false claim doesn't make it true. Now, if you could find me a primary source that says Harris was tasked with border enforcement, I'd be happy to admit I was wrong.

Who was the 'border czar" again?

No one ones. Certainly not Kamala.
No. She was not appointed to anything with border enforcement. She was tasked with addressing the root causes of migration in countries of origin. Also, please provide an actual link and not just a quote next time.

It's also based on incorrect info. Harris was never appointed "border czar," which isn't even an official title.

Now I know a bunch of you are going to downtvote and say I'm wrong. But I'd like to see one original source that shows she was appointed border czar.

Well, it's not exactly a true story. It's essentially based on the story that inspire Hamlet. But it doesn't a great job of being historically accurate to the time period, AND it does a great job being accurate to the style of the old norse sagas.

That's good enough for me.

How does the lotr 4k compare to its counterparts?
I just want to watch a good A24 film. I don't care if it's hot woman, or women, or men, or whatever the frick. If it's a good story, with good direction... I'm in.

Ah, damnit. I still need to watch that one. Mads is almost always awesome.
I'm now a simp for A24. If it's A24, I'm in.

Just recently researched this and I can't say enough how much I love Robert Eggers' attention to historical accuracy, especially in the costume department, and language. While it's not 100% historical accuracy (the sword Draugr, and a few costume choices like Fjölnir's lamellar vest, and a few other areas), it's really close. It refreshing to get a story about vikings and old Norse peoples who actually LOOK like old Norse people would have during the time rather than the bdsm costumes if Vikings and Last kingdom (not knocking on those shows, btw ). It's also really cool to see a story that uses some old Norse language (with reconstructed pronunciation) and the proper futhark alphabet. I know costuming seems like a minor gripe. But I find that when you're making a historical film, the costumes are the one area where you can be extremely close to historically accurate without sacrificing storytelling. So to me it's a big deal.

Anyway, yeah, I'm a fricking nerd. Who cares. But what did everyone else think about these aspects. Any other historical nerds our there? And what other movies did you find that had pretty good historical accuracy?

Yep. I kept focusing on that in this episode. But I also re-watched season 1 like a month ago.
