Didn't Vader just put the fire out with the force?

Yes. And his suit is heat resistant

the main thing i reduce it down to is that he was wanting to toy with him..but, I feel of all people he would toy with, none would be Obiwan.

Feel as if that is the absolute 1 man he would kill on sight, or die trying to kill at any cost.

I disagree. I think Vader is at the height of evil right now. He feels invincible. He has easily slain every Jedi he has encountered in the last 10 years.

He wants to make Kenobi suffer. When he sees what a pathetic waste Kenobi has become he feels no sympathy. He just sees more opportunity to toy with Kenobi and make him experience pain. He wants to know what has made Kenobi tick for these last 10 years, so he can make Obi Wan watch as he destroys it.

and i disagree, his peak is right before he encounters Luke. The moment he peaks is when he begins to fall, the moment his hate reduced was when he was able to save Luke.

I mean, I can buy all of that and would get behind it if it had been satisfyingly transcribed on media presentation. It felt cheap, and none of this should feel that way. Every encounter between Kenobi and Vader should be epic, or not done at all.

Especially after seeing that Mandalorian ending and what can be done now.

Apparently it's an AI using James Earl Jones' voice for all the lines that Vader spoke, since it sounded way better than in Rogue One.

James Earl Jones sounded terrible in Rogue One. Wish they'd go back and alter the lines.

Anyone laugh when Obi-Wan was trying to disable that laser gate when he could've just walked around?

Exactly. I’m flabbergasted at how people are missing this. Vader has been stewing over this encounter for a decade only to find Kenobi a shell of his former self. Vader was probably let down by how easily he beat Obi Wan’s arse truth be know Also Anakin/Vader has always had an ego the size of the galaxy so letting Obi Wan escape just so he can play the long game AND figure out who is helping him escape is totally on brand for his character.

I would almost bet my left nut something happens with Obi Wan in the next couple of episodes where he gets his full connection to the force back, reconnects with Qui Gon’s force ghost, and faces Vader again, either beating him or sucking Vader into some trap while Kenobi escapes imo. And that would tie in nicely with A New Hope and why Vader wasn’t fricking around one bit and goes straight for the kill imo jmo

I guess I'm the only one that gets kind of annoyed when characters resort to the whole "there's no other way around" when it comes to obstacles or objects in their way from something else. Like we just give up on getting Obi-Wan because there's fire (that you just put out with the force) and you can't get around? It's an open world, not a narrow hallway. Go the frick around it

I thought it was a great episode, people need to stop nip picking every little thing and just enjoy it.

Let’s hope this one doesn’t become self-aware

Was Ben disabling the barrier so they could use the vehicle to get to the transport? Also I hate what they've done to Kenobi. They're doing the same thing they did to Luke. Hell the destroyed Boba too. Maybe the last few episodes they'll redeem Kenobi.

No because once he destroyed the gate for no reason he went forward and left the vehicle behind. Then the next vehicle showed up with the girl and storm troopers.

Please tell me there is no Leia chase scene in Episode 3. I didn’t realize she was Usain Bolt.

I generally liked this episode. I don't feel the need to rampage on some small points.

OUTSIDE of the things people are fixating on;
how does the woman get to help Kenobi, and not run into Third Sister in the tunnel? How does Third Sister beat Leia to the pilot? Both of these suggest the tunnels are a system of tunnels, not a straight path.
Ok, if that's so, who in their right mind turns a 10 yr old loose in a maze of tunnels? How do you expect Leia to find her way through?

Leia's suggestion: go back and help 'the great Jedi' against the 'terrifying Sith Lord'... umm, yeah. That's a moment where the adult in the room (tunnel) says "c'mon, we have to go now".

Yeah the fence thing was kinda weird but who knows lol. I felt like Vader letting them escape at the end was 100% intentional and didn’t really need an explanation considering 5 minutes earlier he was yanking people out of houses via the force and just pwnt the absolute shite out of Kenobi. Vader standing there just watching while the inaccurate storm troopers blindly fired shots said enough imo. It’s like how people have complained about clunky, on the nose, explain to me like I’m 5 dialogue in newer Star Wars but then something like this happens where nothing needed to be said, and there’s still negativity

And this is coming from someone absolutely loathed the sequels and the majority of Disney Star Wars content besides Rogue One and The Mandalorian. I like the direction this series is heading even with some of the negatives and the Vader/Obi Wan dynamic is excellent considering everyone knows neither will die imo

The only major plot hole from a certain point of view is Obi-Wan cutting himself off from the force.

Why would he do that if he insisted on Luke being trained when the time comes? Who’s going to train him? It’s not yet shown that he’s kept in touch with Yoda.

But I suppose trauma doesn’t lead to rational thinking.

imagine if we reach the finale and Obi-Wan just cuts off all of Vader’s arms and legs again

The chase scene with Obi Wan and Leia was not quite as bad as the chase scene with Leia in the forest

She’s a ten year old. Grab her.

I think they will. At some point he reestablishes his deep connection the Force. I think that is coming and he will have a much grander showdown with Vader. I think Vader almost felt like this first fight was not adequate for the revenge he seeks against Obi-Wan, and he’s wanting a true throwdown.
