There are two sides to every story.

Frankenstein, a film by Guillermo del Toro, starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Christoph Waltz, is coming to select theaters October 17 and on Netflix November 7.

It's weird, I can admit that the trailer looks pretty good, yet I also have no desire to watch this at all. I guess maybe it's just that Frankenstein doesn't resonate with me too much. Who knows.

Bruh, it's GDT. Dude always delivers. This has the potential to be incredible. I'm all in.

Actually, no. That one didn't interest me.

I guess I should say he "almost" always delivers?

I'll give it a shot. An articulate Frankenstein is truer to the novel than a grunting meat sack.

I'll give it a shot. Seems like it might be trying to do too much, but I do know this is just the trailer.

I can tell that I'm going to absolutely hate Mia Goth's facial expressions though

I always liked how Penny Dreadful portrayed The Creature and this feels closer to that.

I’ll definitely give it a shot given who is involved. Wish it was coming out mid October versus early November.

True but they already did a faithful adaptation of the novel back in the 90s with Kenneth Branaugh directing and starring and Robert De Niro playing the monster.

This will be a retread with Guillermo adding his own self-indulgent style.

I hope he spends half the movie writing letters

But a grunting meat sack does seem more plausible to the concept of infusing life into dead matter, in my opinion.

I want writers to at least give me something plausible to hang onto when they ask me to stretch my imagination.

That's a pretty limiting qualification for your art.

How many times are they going to "retell" this story?

Crimson Peak kinda sucked as well. I love many things GDT has done but he is by no means infallible.

Why does he have strength to the degree that he can move a frozen boat? I know he is strong enough to rip a man apart, but we’re talking about a multi ton boat. Why is he able to see the past of many men’s lives? He only got one damn brain.

Looks interesting but decidedly over the top.
