It’s definitely Obi-Wan. King of the long game.

Yondu from Guardians of the galaxy

This is low key best of the thread.

When I look at sacrificing for the greater good, it’s even better when it’s after their character comes from a place of complete self preservation (Han Solo, Tony Stark).

This one scene changes everything about what we thought of Yandu. Watching the Christmas special scents from Peter’s childhood, while knowing this about Yandu, made complete sense.

Many others while iconic (Harry, Terminator T-800 in T2), started out as good or generally good characters already.

Veto. He had no reason to live. It was hardly a sacrifice.

Except that Major Kong didn't sacrifice his live willing. The bomb dropped when he was sitting on it.
And for the greater good? Starting World War 3?
Anyway, this is one of the best movies ever made!

Jack Dawson from Titanic.

It was the ultimate Doesn’t Matter, Had Sex moment.

Truly inspirational.
