That’s it for me. I can hardly take it. Boy loved his dad. And just lost his world.

“Wake up!”

And it goes on and on, they can’t keep him away from his dad, they can’t pull him away. And he keeps going back to him. And when he goes back a last time, still crying, and gently touches and strokes his dad’s hair...

frick I’m crying right now.

The first time I saw The Green Mile when John gets executed.

And now that I have a daughter, I can't get through the end of Armageddon. Uhhhh.

Death of Bran Piccalo in the original: :Brian's Song"

The only two I can think of to be honest. I was just a kid when "Old Yeller" came out and could relate to how that kid felt.

"Brian's Song" came out when I was 19 and had watched Gayle Sayers and Brian Piccolo play ball for the Bears, so I knew very well who they were.

Got damn there are a bunch in this thread that had me grown man crying for sure.

One I didn't see mentioned was Click with Adam Sandler. When he realizes he's an old man and has missed all of his kids' lives and important moments... shite man I was blubbering.

That whole movie is just soul crushing

Obviously better ones that I can't think of at the moment or were already posted, but every time I rewatch Click I bawl at this scene.

Him pausing and rewinding over and over to hear his dad say I love you one more time.

Another that caught me off guard was Peggy Sue Got Married. It's a light-hearted time travel rom-com, then the phone rings and Peggy Sue nonchalantly answers it and it's her grandmother.

She's back in her younger self and never realized that in this time period her grandparents are still alive.

That reminded me of another Nick Cage movie that was like that. The Family Man with Tea Leoni, who is an absolute knock out in it.

Trailer

Spoilers:

The guy gets a glimpse of what his life would have been like if he'd stayed with his college girlfriend and after fighting it gives in and falls in love with his simpler life only to have to taken away again after he's had a chance to learn whatever lesson there was to learn. Essentially he loses the love of his life and his kids which he'd never known but now suddenly could not live without. it was a gut punch to me when I saw it when it came out, and I'd only been married for about 4 years and we had no kids yet. I'm honestly not sure I could watch it now.

This flipping ending gets me every time!!!!
My daughter is a daddy’s girl and I just couldn’t imagine not seeing her grow up then telling her good bye on her death bed.

The genius of Forrest Gump was the emotional roller-coated ride it took you on. From a lump in your throat to sudden giggling, and then back.

“You’re still ... Lt. Dan.” To not much later. “But you ain’t got no legs, Lt Dan.”

The opening sequence of Up.

Laura calling Logan "Daddy" as he is dying.

Not a movie, but a game: The end of Starcraft 2 when Jim Raynor is drinking alone in a bar on Mar Sara 2 years later.
