That I *LOVE*?

Because there are good movies I cannot rewatch without necessarily loving them.

Some because they're just too depressing/sad, like Ol' Yeller.

Some because the effects didn't age well. A lot of things that used mid-90s computer effects fall into this.

Some because the jokes don't age well (if they were too topical, for example - I may not remember why a joke about Grenada or Vanilla Ice are funny).

Sixth sense. If there were there was a movie that once you know what’s going on kind of runs it.

Great one. Perfect example.

i cannot relate (my dad is a bit of an arse but he did love me as best he could,) but i know that the "why don't he love me?" scene from Fresh Prince is a kick in the nuts every time i see it 20 years later, so i feel for you.

thank you! Yeah I always hated that one too. Good media usually hits close to home. Can live without those two scenes, however. ha ha.

Wouldn’t say I loved it, or even really liked it, but Uncut Gems is the most recent one that comes to mind. It’s really well down, and the safdie brothers accomplish what they set out to do, and Sandler gave a great performance, but holy shite it was exhausting to watch. Just a bunch of despicable people.

I became a dad of a little girl 7 1/2 years ago. When she was almost 2 me and my wife watched "Armageddon" and I cried like a little bitch when Harry sacrifices himself and is talking to his daughter. That was one of the first times it really hit me hard that I was a father and loved that little girl more than anything. It hit me hard and frick that movie. I'll never watch it again .

Killer whale is a misnomer - they're not whales at all, but members of the same family as dolphins and porpoises. It's more like a lion eating a baby elephant.

Oh man, there’s no way I could do it again.

I think I “enjoyed” Good Time more, but felt just as dirty when I finished that one too.

This!!! I have seen that movie dozens of times and may well up a little if I was really into it. Watched it for the first time after my daughter was born, and was only passively watching the movie. I literally had to leave the room when that scene happened.

It fricked me up for like 2 days. Told a buddy of mine at work to watch it, and him and his wife both hated it. I like it when movies stay with me like that though. And my God it was just straight anxiety for 2 hours.

if you don't mind a foreign film and/or you like war movies ...

The 9th Company

it reminds me of Full Metal Jacket on roids and russian vodka

The 9th Company is a 2005 Russian war film directed by Fedor Bondarchuk and set during the Soviet–Afghan War. The film is loosely based on a real-life battle that took place at Elevation 3234 in early 1988, during the last large-scale Soviet military operation (Magistral) in Afghanistan.

Manchester by the Sea. Good movie but no way in hell I’d watch it again. Same goes for Blue Valentine.

Dear Zachary
I was pissed off for a week straight after watching that fricking documentary. Couldn’t pay me enough money to watch that again (also in large part from me knowing the twisted and fricked up ending).

Damn. Now I need a Xanax.
