Ravenous starring Guy Pearce. Hard to get that creepy music out of your head.

A movie my brother and I loved as a kid that even our friends had no idea what it was...

My sister and I recorded that on a VHS tape and wore it out. I always remember the scene where the kittens were being baked in a pie and he breaks the crust to let them out. Also, Preston Preston

The Sure Thing
When Cusack was a funny actor. Pre-Goose Anthony Edwards. Pre-Spaceballs Daphne Zuniga.

Great 80s comedy flick

ETA: Young Nicollete Sheridan and an unknown at the time Tim RObbins

The Fall was so disappointing as a story, the trailer implied a narrative that would have been interesting to see, over the "wtf?" actual story.

Fun little movie with a good cast.

Unfortunately, it is one of those films which rarely seems to surface for streaming.

And yes, that music definitely sticks with you.

5000 Fingers of Dr T

The only feature film made by Dr Seuss

One of the most bizarre movies Ive ever
watched.

quote:

Seuss's only foray into writing for the live action screen ends up as some deranged sort of kiddie Caligari- demented, hallucinatory, and oh yes, very atomic. There's lot to be said for how much torture, misanthropy and general insanity remains in this version,

Not sure its exactly a hidden gem but I feel like Rocknrolla doesn't get as much attention as some of the other Guy Ritchie movies. I think its just as good and Smoking Barrels and Snatch.

The Man from Earth

I can’t give any more description than what IMDB gives without spoiling it:
quote:

An impromptu goodbye party for a college professor becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he has a longer and stranger past than they can imagine.

Damn movie starts out with said heir’s father, totally out of his fricking gourd, managing to kill himself

Yep, dressed in a tutu and hanging himself. I knew right then it was going to be a strange movie.

Have you guys ever seen the film Remember last Night?
Constance Cummings is a hottie

One of my favorites from the great director James Whale. This was his first foray away from horror pictures as he did not want to be known as a strictly horror director. The first 20 minutes are dynamite and it’s a fun little romp after that held together by strong performances and even stronger writing. It reminds me of the same pace and whodunnit nature as we saw in the 90s with Radioland Murders. That’s another really fun whodunnit set near the same time period.

Anyway, the movie revolves around a gaggle of wealthy 20 somethings who drink so much they wake up not knowing any of the night’s proceedings. When they discover one of their friend’s is dead, it becomes a race to find the killer as more and more drop like flies.

Check it out! It even has the main characters dawning black face and features some amazing Art Deco sets.
