I would just put four members of the Bluth family up there and call it a day.

A show about George with no Jerry would still be great.

It's called Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Honestly it's hard to put a single Seinfeld character up their

Well, since it's my thread, Seinfeld will be almost impossible to make the Mt. Rushmore anyway. I hate that show.

I know Frasier got you to start this thread, but The Simpsons are far and away the most successful spinoff ever.

Munch? No way. I like svu as much as the next day but he does t do anything special. The show isn't popular enough to warrant it either. No societal impact really.

I don't care much for Lucy. But I can't deny her influence

Bart Simpson - key character of the longest running show in TV history

The Simpsons started with Bart but it became very apparent who the show was going to revolve around.

yep. You guys do know where The Flinstones was influenced from, right?

Gleason could be a choice for sure.

Homer

Lucy

Tony Soprano

Seinfeld is tough. Costanza would maybe be the guy but is he enough on his own?

Don't forget about

I was thinking about Archie Bunker. I would put him on a different mountain with Fred Sanford and two characters to be named later.

some of ya'll don't get what we mean when we are talking about "GREAT TV Characters"

Jerry Seinfeld was Andy Griffith
George Costanza was Barney Fife

Does that help?

Speaking of, Barney Fife has to be in the discussion here

It's tough picking only 4. If they have to be fictional characters.

Lucy
Capt. Kirk
Andy Griffith (or Gomer Pyle)
Homer

Newhart, JJ, Seinfeld, Perry Mason, Jack from 24 and Rod Serling would all have narrowly missed the cut, as well as a few others. I would have picked a MASH character, but it would have to be Hawkeye, so frick that.
