Mount Rushmore of TV characters

This discussion started in the Cheers thread, but I've hijacked that one enough...who would be the top 4 TV characters in history up to this point. Could be based on iconic status, longevity, breadth of TV shows, etc.
In the other thread, we came up with these so far, which I think are really good candidates:
- Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer)
Was on TV from about 1982-2004, on Cheers then Frasier. About 500+ episodes of television.
- Lucy (Lucille Ball)
Played "Lucy" in some variation or another from basically 1951 to 1974 (I Love Lucy, Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, among others). About 500 episodes just in the 4 shows I listed.
- Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer)
On television from 1993 to the present. 442 episodes across 8 different shows (122 episodes (Homicide: Life On the Streets), 4 episodes (Law and Order), 1 episode (X Files), 311 episodes (L&O: SVU), 1 episode (The Beat), 1 episode (L&O:TBJ), 1 episode (Arrested Development), 1 episode (The Wire)).
Also, give reasons/evidence as to why you think someone should be there rather than just list your favorite characters. So who would be the fourth (or who would/could replace any listed so far)..?
Harriette Winslow?

Here come the Seinfelders.
I love Lucille Ball and think she should be there unquestionably.
Are we leaving out soaps?

George Costanza certainly deserves consideration

Fonzie deserves consideration.

In all seriousness, would someone like Carson qualify?

I like this, although I'd lean towards George Costanza over Michael Scott.

Johnny Carson wasn't a TV character though (at least not on the Tonight Show).
Also, I edited the OP...give reasons for your listings instead of just listing favorite characters from favorite shows.

Carson is definitely in a category all his own. I'm not sure about "someone like" him
And I was being serious FWIW. All the characters I mentioned are far more influential and iconic than Frasier and Munch

Tommy Westphall, the autistic kid at the end of St Elsewhere. Just about every show on TV is set inside of the universe in his brain.
LINK
*I'm only being half serious about this suggestion.
ETA: Tommy Westphall actually links Munch to Frasier, weirdly enough.

It's not all about longevity, it's about someone who did something great or revolutionary (even speaking in TV terms).
I think Lucy is a lock
Homer Simpson- The Simpsons are the original great adult cartoon, certainly inspirational and revolutionary to Television.
Tony Soprano- I've never even watched this show all the way through but they certainly influenced tv in a positive way.
Bugs Bunny???- I think one of the toons deserves to be up here, they are iconic and you'd be hard pressed to find a child, even today who doesn't love them. Bugs is probably the most famous
Can't think of more now and I'm at work, may come back and add later

Homer is one of the most influential fictional characters on television, having been described by the British newspaper The Sunday Times as "the greatest comic creation of [modern] time".

Homer Simpson is one of the most popular and influential television characters in a variety of standards. USA Today cited the character as being one of the "top 25 most influential people of the past 25 years" in 2007, adding that Homer "epitomized the irony and irreverence at the core of American humor."[109] Robert Thompson, director of Syracuse University's Center for the Study of Popular Television believes that "three centuries from now, English professors are going to be regarding Homer Simpson as one of the greatest creations in human storytelling."

So, fictional TV characters...got it. Then I guess Carson doesn't qualify.
I feel like someone from Seinfeld should be listed, and if I had to choose one I guess it would be George. George was basically the show, right? He was loosely, or maybe even tightly, based around Larry David.
I don't know how Frasier is in this...he doesn't come across as all that impactful or memorable.
Here's one (or two) we may all relate to...either of Zack Morris or Kevin Arnold (The Wonder Years).

I'll add Jackie Gleason to Lucille Ball. I think his character as well as the Honeymooners pretty much set the mold for sitcoms.
