I love nostalgia and was centered around Nintendo in the late 80s. Not the best movie but it was a fun watching and my son loved it.

I thought it was great. A welcomed addition to the Christmas tradition.

It was A Christmas Story set in the 80s with a Nintendo instead of a BB gun. It was ok.

I thought it was great. The most accurate part was how much the Power Glove SUCKED.

That was a kick in the gut.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a movie that captured me and my dad more that. He’s a cranky old man but I’m lucky to have him still with me.

Dude didn’t get me and my GenX self but he tried to connect in his own way through construction, projects, and things like the tree house and that meant a lot more than getting a video game even if I didn’t realize it at the time.

The emotional hook at the end was unexpected, but dammit if it wasn't spot-on.

Thanks for the heads-up on this one. I think I'll give it a gander for nostalgia's sake.

EDIT: I thought it was a pretty darn good film. A lot of nostalgia for 80’s kids like me and great lesson to boot. Worth the watch.

Dead nuts on. I enjoyed it the whole way through for nostalgia sake but the last 5 minutes was an emotional hard left in a good way.

Is the dad the same guy from Saving Silverman?

No. I think it was Matthew McConaughey’s sidekick from Sahara though.

Not to be a fuddy duddy, I mean the show looks ok but those kids are definitely not like kids were in the 80's. Not even close. We simply weren't that nice.

I started it last night but less than five minutes in and it's the same tired cliche of a kid who is WAY smarter than her bumbling idiot father. When he slipped on the ice and she just stood there then made a snarky comment I turned it off. I'm so sick of hollywood ALWAYS making the parents, 99% of the time the dad, being a complete idiot that the kids scoff at and look down upon.

I may give it anther try since so many of you liked it, but mostly, frick hollywood.

If you would have continued, you would have learned this wasn’t the case

That's fair. I'll give it another try.
