Did they ever address where the main character's wife was? Are they divorced?

I thought that was what was going to be "different about this Christmas" when mentioned at the beginning, but her existence is never addressed?

Yes. She is at the end.

She was the girl on the bus who was wearing the same girl boots as he was.

Anyone else remember the PowerPad for Track and Field?

Yup. My parents didn't care for it, seeing as our house was slightly raised above ground, so any running or pounding on the floor could be heard/felt through most of the house.

The trick to it, was to not run on it, but use your hands. The only way to play track and field.

This is absolutely false. The now defunct skate galaxy/universe/world/planets across this country, that were built in the 70s/80s are proof.

I went to them through the mid 90s.

Same, my 9 year old and I watched it yesterday and half of it today again today… I told my son I don’t think they even made bike helmets in the 80’s when I was a kid

They started to become a thing in the 90's I think? But even then, you were openly mocked if you wore one.

Watched it with my 4 year old and we both loved it. Great little nostalgia trip with an awesome ending.

My relatable big gift was a N64 for Christmas one year and I can still remember wanting that more than anything in the entire world.

I can’t call this movie great. I thought it was a good movie for a one time watch. Fun nostalgia but that’s about all.

I used to use one of those round color pencils and slide it really quick back and forth on the A/B buttons on the controller and would destroy everyone to the point where it was banned from use

This movie was pretty damn good. Steve Zahn is great, and my 8 year old loved it

How much was the power glove when it came out?

It was a lot. I remembered begging for one for my birthday. I got a castlevania game boy game instead. I was pissed. Couple of months later I rented the power glove from the video store. I immediately knew this thing is horrible. I played the heck out out that game boy game. I was such a little piece of crap back then, but I never did tell my folks that they were right for what they got me.

I was going to birthday parties at roller skating rinks in the late 80's and early 90's, this is completely wrong
