I'm in. Looks like a good mindless buddy action/comedy

I imagine the russkie is going to sacrifice himself to get Reynolds out of Russia.

I need stuff like this in the theaters.

I’ve met an SR-71 pilot that’s flown on missions who knows where. Definitely didn’t give off Ryan Reynolds vibes.

ETA… still looks like a fun watch.

There are going to be some very pissed off people who were involved in the SR-71 program (if any are still alive). Because they know a lot of people will look at this and assume that this is based on some historical incident.

I’ll watch this just for Branagh, even if he is phoning in that Russian accent.

He may be doing a bad Russian accent, but Branagh never phones in a performance. I recently listened to a Heart of Darkness audiobook narrated by Kenneth Branagh (exclusively on Audible), and I've never heard a more dramatic, dynamic reading of a book.

While the wide dynamic range of his reading (slow to fast, soft to loud) increased the drama of even ordinary passages, it made it more difficult to listen to in a car. (It made me appreciate Chiwetel Ejiofor's very steady reading style, which was easy to follow when listening in a car.)

RR happily played along. He is that much of a dbag, sadly. And FFS, Blake utterly trashed her image! Even scorched her relationship with Taylor Swift! And for what reason??

Don’t know if she got the *wedding invite or not. Don’t really care. I suspect yes, but maybe not on the wedding party dais.

* ETA according to Siri , Blake Lively did not attend. Didn’t even make the top 1000.

100% agree.

I just added this to my audible queue.

Whatever happened with that situation with Blake Lively and that director guy, it pulled back the curtain on how awful she and Ryan are.
I think the director was completely vindicated and Blake/Ryan were proven to be despicable

I don’t know how much of those fight scenes Branagh actually does but good grief the man is 65. He’s giving Hugh Jackman a run for his money. .

Thanks again for this recommendation. I just finished it and Branagh was excellent.

I legit don’t understand how yall aren’t burnt out on Reynolds

He’s done the same fricking thing for damn near 30 years now

And now he does it in commercials

Because I enjoy his schtick?

I’ve liked him since 2GAG&APP and he was exactly the same on that show as he is in movies now. So I guess I'm just a fan. I don’t really see movies or shows because a person is in them, but I enjoy him usually when he’s in something.

The idea probably came from the U2 incident, but making a comedy about a U2 pilot evading capture would sorta be in poor taste. I'm ok with a little artistic license there.

It wasn’t too bad. Got a little preachy at times but overall decent buddy action comedy. If you enjoy Ryan Reynolds, I think you’ll enjoy it overall. Nothing groundbreaking but simple and enjoyable enough with some good laughs.

This movie was pure slop. Am I missing something? For as good as their show catalog is, Apple cannot make a good movie.

I haven't watched a lot of their movies; the last one was that Gorge monster movie. I didn't turn it off but that's about the most praise I can offer.

They were 40,000 feet below normal altitude and the pilot turned and slowed down rather than outrun them. It would be plausible given the speed of the Mig that was chasing. Also it liked like the wingman of the chasing mig strafed the 71.

If you go the Udzar Hazy center at Dulles in Virgina they usually have at least one former skunk works guy who will explain the advanced programs to you. Though last time I went on their tour was 2014.
