Female in the Matrix to save Neo

You mean like Trinity in the original?

Female captain of the ship

You mean like Niobe in Reloaded?

quote:

Female General

You mean Niobe who was already an established officer in the OT?

quote:

Gay dude wanting to bang Neo

Honestly have no clue what you’re even talking about here

If you mean the Neo-ologist or whatever why on Io do you think he’s gay??? Are you Christian? If so, imagine Jesus coming back to Earth, and you being overwhelmed to be in his presence and some dude in the back of the room was like look at this gay who wants to frick Jesus lol.

Because that’s you in this take

quote:

White male hero no longer has power. Is incompetent and lost.

You mean like in Revolutions when Neo is blind so Trinity has to fly the ship for him, literally flies for him, sounds familiar right??

Not to mention almost the entire movie before the final five minutes is actually Neo’s mission to save Trinity. Including the entire final battle when he USES HIS POWERS to protect them both from an entire army trying to kill them

quote:

White male husband holding Trinity back

Yeah Chad sucked

quote:

White male who built new Matrix

You mean like The Architect in the OT?

quote:

Also Neo was the one in the first trilogy. Even compared to Jesus in a lot of theories. We all know Jesus can't save you but Shesus can. GTFOH

Except it’s revealed at the end of Revolutions that the Oracle didn’t actually even know if there was a “One” or not.

quote:

I'm not complaining

Sure

quote:

But, let's not turn a blind eye to facts.

Like the fact that all of the things you find so “woke” in this movie have been a part of the franchise since the beginning?

Maybe your perspective has changed and you have your own “checklist” that eats up your entire existence just as much as the “wokes”

Yes the one in many different simulations. Neo was the one in every one. Just over and over again.

Because it was Neo in all of them and he still had the one powers.

I think you’re misunderstanding this.

When The Architect said this scenario had played out six times before he actually did not mean it was our Neo, or Thomas Anderson.

He simply meant there was always an “anomaly” or imperfection in the equation that led to a “One” emerging.

It absolutely was not the same human, as this had played out several times over however many hundreds of years.

As The Architect said, “The Matrix is older than you know”

One thing I'll add to my OP is they spent way too much time in the first half of the film establishing new characters and took too much Time having NEO and Trinity in a state of confusion trying to figure out who they really were.

If it didn't have the pacing issue, would it have been a lot better?

The Pacing issue only magnified how bad of a story this was.

In the trilogy, it was always Man vs. the Machines..survival of humanity. That should have been the continuing theme in Resurrections. Instead we ended up with a disconnected story with everything we knew about this world.

Not having Laurence Fishburne continue as Morpheus was probably the biggest mistake along with the bad story. He represents the power of hope and faith which I think really kept the audience grounded.

This story should have been the continuation of man vs. Machine rather than this "inclusion" theme of living with the machines.

I would have liked to have seen the machines "repair" Neo and Trinity and turned them into a weapon against humanity with Morpheus (and maybe Niobe) fighting for mankind and maybe saving Trinity and Neo to return to Zion in the continued struggle and ultimate defeat of man over machine.

Watched this. Was a casual fan of this series. It wasn’t great. Not really sure why the shite on the Merovingian. That was pretty much the worst thing in the movie. They could have done a number of interesting things with that character and just did not deliver there. The rest of it was pretty much on point with modern action troupes of woman hero wokism.

I completely agree here.

The entire concept of the Exiles had some potential but that entire scene was pretty terrible, his incoherent ravings being obviously being the worst.

Trinity is kind of a central figure to the entire franchise and Neo’s character. Her love saved his life and pushed him to be the One.

It’s also dystopian fantasy genre which is covered in female heroes. Relax.

Honestly, the main reason I'm seeing people give for not watching the movie is that it's slow paced and dull. Still debating if I want to watch it now or wait.

I thought it started off pretty interesting. I was kind of fascinated by the idea of some of the machines not wanting to play along anymore and the machine “civil war”.

It went off the rails the last thirty minutes or so with the zombie hoard stuff.

Doogie Howser was a pretty good antagonist.

Can we all give Carrie-Ann Moss credit for aging really well?

Twenty years later and she looks great.

They had some fascinating thread to explore.
- the machines that were working with the humans
- the programs that had been deleted
- Neo’s legacy and how the people in IO looked at him.
- Agent Smith and whatever the hell is going on with him
- The renegades that attacked them then ran off

They didn’t focus on any of that and never got into it, instead focusing on what Neo has been doing and this love story.

Have to disagree with this, I can't take Doogie seriously as a villain.

Jesus? If rhey wanted nostalgia money thru could have given us some good Kung fu scenes. We got one fight sceen worth a damn. Neo is neutered and completely useless. We all know why though.

Didn't really feel like a Matrix movie, but it held my interest. I'd give it a 5/10. Cool seeing some of the old actors in the roles again, but again it didn't quite feel like the Matrix of old. It was really missing Hugo and Fish.
