Rock for beds around the house

Posted by cardoin on 3/24/25 at 7:30 am
I am looking for a source for rock to install in my flower beds around the house in lieu of mulch. I don't put down flower plants, only a couple of green shrubs.
I live south of Lafayette. Prefer local. Thanks in advance for your response.
Whatever you decide to buy, don't but from a big box store. The models sold there are on the low end of quality. I bought a John Deere years ago from Home Depot and the transmission went out about the same time as the warranty. Bought a cub cadet from a dealer next and have been satisfied for more than 10 years since.
I still don't understand why LSU is unranked. Surely we are better than many of those teams in the top 25. :geauxtigers: :banghead:
As others have stated above. Stay away from the box store versions of brand name equipment. I made that mistake once please learn from my mistake. :spank:

I bought a Snapper blower. The model is an 82 volt max. Has a trigger like a gas blower. I blow my whole yard after mowing and have never run out of power. Supposed to last 40 minutes per charge. The battery is a briggs and stratton. I highly recommend. Good power, light weight and no worries about pulling on a rope.

I have to disagree wholeheartedly. I drive and F150 FX4 and the wife(no pics) drove a 2wd GMC LTZ. That F150 rode much better than her Gotta Mechanic Coming (GMC)

Air infused septic system

What do you guys on the OB use as a bacterial agent in your septic system. I have heard from someone that Rid-ex is not the best additive. Thanks for the input. I had to change a sump pump yesterday. It had been working for a number of years so not unexpected. Just never a good time. :violin:

re: Zero Turn Mowers?

These may be just what you are looking for. I've had one for 10+ years with zero trouble. Worked on a steep hill behind my home in Ga. before moving back to La. where I mow 2 acres. LINK
Whatever you decide to buy stay away from the homeowner quality mowers at the big box stores. Go to a dedicated dealer and get the highest quality that you can afford. I believe you would be happy with either of those brands.
I have a F-150 5.0 liter FX4. 3.55 gears and I recently pulled my jeep from La. to Knoxville area and then down to Savannah and back. Averaged 11.5 mpg and ran 70 mph on the interstates. Jeep and trailer weigh in at about 5000 lbs. Don't forget about wind load. My jeep sets up high on the trailer and the biggest factor in towing I find is wind resistance.
I towed to Moab with my F-150 ecoboost and encountered 25 mph head wind. That will make you rethink towing with a half ton gas truck.

So I have had no luck with reinstating my account. I guess I will take the route many of you have suggested and leave for good. :booboo: :doublebird:

Facebook account lost

Posted by cardoin on 6/14/22 at 3:06 pm
I can't log into facebook. First time I noticed it says for me to log in again. I log in using my password and then I get an error saying I used an old password and my password was changed which I didn't do.

I asked to secure my account and they are to send me a link to change my password on the email address that they have on file. I do not get the email. I have tried this multiple times and checked the spa folder to insure that the emails didn't show elsewhere.

Is there something that I can do to recover?

Tengard is what I have used in the past. Sprayed the rafters in a barn and came back later to find them dead all over the ground.
If you don't mind going to Lafayette, Superior Boat Services. LINK If you place a deposit they will call you when they get an order in for your specific motor request. If you pay cash or check it's 3 or 4% less. They also sell and install electronics but I don't have any experience with them on that.

Get self deploy as several have mentioned. It is a great feature

Vendors for Minn Kota have told me to stay away from the self deploy. While it's a great feature, it is problematic.

You’ll find riper wines from Europe in the warmer climes like southern France, Spain and central/southern Italy.

As stated above, my travels to Northern Italy and Spain allowed those people to educate me (albeit I'm no expert) about the wines from those regions vs French and California wines. According to the Italians and Spanish, their wines are fermented without added sugars, only using sugars from the grapes. French wines are essentially California wines due a a blight that decimated the French vineyards some years back and they were reseeded from California vineyards.
Friend of mine has a 90 yammy 2 stroke, if he chokes it to try to start it he'll flood it and he needs to grind the hell out of it to make it fire. If he leaves the throttle in neutral and turns the key it will fire. He learned this from another 90 yammy owner at the landing.
