Didn’t the Architect already establish in Reloaded that Neo was one of many “Ones”? And that there’s a new “One” every time the Matrix is rebooted? Why can’t Trinity be “the One” in the new Matrix?

Edit: The whole concept of “the One” is undermined by the revelation in Reloaded that there is no singular “One.” The prophecy was bullshite by the Oracle to inspire humanity. For all we know, every human is capable of the powers of “the One” if they believe enough that they are “the One.”

It was horrible. Turned it off about halfway through.

This was a perfect movie for HBO Max. Very meh but didn’t care since I watched it sitting on my couch while half paying attention.

It was entertaining. Good action, typical of what Matrix does well.

I actually found the appeal of this much less about the action (although the bullet time change up was well done) and more about the psychological journey of Neo and how a revelation like this would play out and how it would be such a mindfrick.

The best scenes were with NPH imo, and also Jada’s scene was a surprise and really well done between her and Neo.

Really liked the addition of King George as Smith as well, want to see him in more things for sure.

All around a really good return to that world and easily the second best of the franchise imo.

Bro.....She went from having no powers to saving him. He couldn't fly but now she can?

3 movies with him as the one but now she is more powerful.

What a simple take on what happened there.

First off, he can still fly, they both fly off at the end. But in that moment she was the one that found the power to do that, likely because Neo was exhausted to the point of collapse because he had single handedly protected them both from endless bullets, cars, helicopters, etc for the previous 10+ minute chase/fight scene.

It’s also clearly explained that the two share a bond that makes them both more powerful, and this isn’t new. Trinity resurrects Neo in the original with a kiss, and Neo resurrects her in the second by literally restarting her heart with his hand.

They are both rebuilt and resurrected by the machines after 3 and kept alive due to their powers so it isn’t at all out of line that she would start to discover even more powers within the Matrix than she already had in the original trilogy (which were substantial).

Just a weak viewpoint based in confirmation bias imo.

I have yet to see a Wachowski move that was overtly woke. Matrix Resurrections is very generic and forgettable sci fi movie.

I guess the Matrix 1999 was lightning in a bottle for the Wachowski duo.

I feel the same. I actually wasn’t a fan of the action that much other than Smith and Neo’s fight (which I liked a lot) but found myself more invested in the world, way more than I was in Reloaded and Revolutions.

The film has its flaws for sure but it did some interesting things storywise to where I would like to see where they take it but I’d like to see some more talented writers tackle sequels along with Wachowski.

I actually thought Groff and Henwick held their own as the Smith and Bugs. I liked NPH more than I thought I would. In fact, all of the acting was solid except for the guy who played Morpheus. He’s extremely overrated as an actor. I don’t know how he keeps getting such big roles. The only thing he was decent in was Candyman. Haven’t seen Watchmen which he won an Emmy for.

That was something.... I don't know, definitely feel the too much exposition criticism. Just feels all over the place. Definitely the nostalgia bait feels like the movie specifically is directed at critical fan bases to say we are giving you what you want and if you hate this we get to call you out on it. Action was decent, lots of callbacks. Meh is my biggest thought on it, didn't hate it, didn't love it. Worth a watch if you like Matrix movies, definitely better than 2 or 3 for me.

In the end I kinda feel like I did after I saw Force Awakens for the first time and where it took Star Wars.

They still haven’t duplicated the magic of the first one. I doubt they ever will. It’s an okay watch on a streaming service, I wouldn’t pay to go see it at a theater though.

Jada Pickett is a very unlikable actress. I don't think she ever plays a role that you really care for.

The only social Justice mentions. We're the game executives conversation in the early scenes and the Synthoids wanting to be equal to humans.

Yes the one in many different simulations. Neo was the one in every one. Just over and over again.

Because it was Neo in all of them and he still had the one powers. Deep down you know its bullshite.

Woke checklist:
Female in the Matrix to save Neo
Female captain of the ship
Female General
Gay dude wanting to bang Neo
White male hero no longer has power. Is incompetent and lost.

Villains:
White male husband holding Trinity back
White male who built new Matrix

Also Neo was the one in the first trilogy. Even compared to Jesus in a lot of theories. We all know Jesus can't save you but Shesus can. GTFOH

I'm not complaining. I mean look who wrote it. But, let's not turn a blind eye to facts.

She's a much less likable person. And not a good enough actress to compensate on film
