That's one read, to be sure

I think a more accurate read would be lack of excitement is WHY it is projecting poorly. I could be wrong, though

He-Man came from a time that didn't take itself so seriously.

These days, what's considered good cinema is low budget sadist fest horror usually stripped of anything resembling fun or humor. The blockbuster circuit is just throwing poo at the wall and seeing what sticks. He-Man was a bad fling because no one gets that it was intended to just be stupid fun anymore.

Saw a preview for this before project hail Mary. It looked just terrible, heard people literally groan sitting the preview.

This will bomb extremely hard, comic book fatigue, and generally not much audience

External vs. internal motivation. Not my problem, although I acknowledge it exists. There's just nothing I can do about ad budgets, dumb UAV stunts, shitty casting, critic reviews (which poor reviews from critics are a pretty good indicator of if I'll like a movie on RT.)

You want to see it, or not. The breaking point of is if most normies that see movies on weekends want to put up with the hassle, or not, for the movie.

Kevin Smith's Netflix series had to be a major reason that excitement was extinguished. I'm 45 and He-Man was a staple when I was 4-5. He-Man, GI Joe, Transformers, MASK, and Thundercats were go to's for all of us at that time. Smith killing off He-Man and making his series about Teela/Girl Power killed any excitement about anything He-Man for me. Throw in the first trailer with the He/Him and making him a little bitch...Nah I'll wait to watch it at home for free.

This one has good early critic reactions at least

T Man episodes are tough to beat (Cajun He Man) - not sure why it doesn’t show via embedding

You kill the enthusiasm of the parents that lived it, they have zero enthusiasm to impart to their kids to want to watch it.
