Wow they spent $170m on this movie. That's crazy to me.

It doesn't look great to me but it seemed to be getting a lot of good reactions from people in general, especially here.

Maybe reboot fatigue is real, which I'm not unhappy about.

Sort of shocks it will get that high

This had bomb written all over it

It looks terrible

Like a “how did this get made” episode is inevitable

Earlier previews portrayed a simpish He Man reimagined for modern audiences. Not sure who they were appealing to. It seems like they tried to dial that back in later previews but couldn’t unwind that first impression.

The 'he-him' thing was overblown. I think that's just intended to be a pun on his real identity. The MAA race swap is typical, but at least it's every white guy's favorite black actor playing the part.

I just thought the trailers looked a little too cheesy and video game-like. And seriously, Jared Leto is the kiss of death for any film, it seems. Even in voice form.

Terrible previews notwithstanding, you would think the demographics of this very board would be their target audience.

I've seen one commercial for this movie, and that was as a preview before Hail Mary (in the theater). Otherwise, I wouldn't have even known it exists.

Assuming they're actually wanting us to watch it, where in the hell are they even marketing this thing?

Damn near 40 years from the peak of the IP and it hasn't really been on the map much in the interim. It feels like a classic "catch it when streaming" movie.

I didn't watch the cartoon, more of my brother's era, but everything I've seen from it looks pretty cheesy and overproduced. It does not pique my interest.

ETA: Idk how long Amazon can keep churning out bombs, they've been pretty shite it at making successful movies. Project Hail Mary notwithstanding

I think it's aimed at Gen-Xer nostalgia.

I think it could have been a funny gag in the movie, but out of context and front and center in the trailer was dumb. Just asking for people to clip it and tune out.

I forgot all about this movie until it was one of the previews before Mandalorian.

This movie is going to do great once it hits streaming and word of mouth

If the good reactions are to be believed. I was looking for Dolby showings this weekend other than the pre-release on Wednesday, and it doesn't even have any evening times this weekend. Odd for a first week of release

I’m honestly surprised by the lack of interest in He-Man. I think it looks like loads of fun.

And it’s gotten pretty good reviews.

I guess it would be like my dad being baffled that I wasn’t excited about a new Lone Ranger or Bonanza.

Have I gotten so old?

The people who watched this as kids are around 50 now. The aim should’ve been for these people to take their kids but marketing, casting had to be can’t miss because the two animated series’ that came out recently were so bad nobody trusts this property. Can’t make any mistakes with stuff like this anymore.

It's kind of baffling that a person couldn't understand that a HE man movie was making a pronouns joke. Legit the perfect film to make a 2 second joke about it.

Way too much CGI. Saw people on here saying it looked good and I was wondering if I was watching the same trailer. Looks awful.
