There are definitely some better reviews than expected out there
I wonder if this will be another John Carter or one of those movies that bombs but finds its way later on in a cult sense

It may not be a success but this and people rushing to say Mandalorian was going to bomb seems to be propaganda to influence people's decisions to not see these movies
The Mandalorian did bomb relative to Star Wars. Also the box office drop off was awful once word of mouth got around.
No clue if this movie will be good, but I don't have a lot of hope that it'll be a huge success unless word of mouth saves it.

Harloff out of theater reaction
- Ragnarok/Guardians feel
- Can tell Travis Knight is a fan of the property and grew up on it
- Leto is fantastic, Eternia and the look/feel of the characters is great
- Music and fights are great
- The lessons and what he wants to bring to Eternia really works
- He really enjoyed the overall tone
- He recognizes it wasn't meant to be a LOTR/Star Wars type sci-fi, it was meant to be more tongue-in-cheek, fun movie
- Negative is when they use the humor in the first half of the movie it's overpowering, some of the jokes take away from the emotion of the film. That's during the first half of the movie and settles in after that
- It's a great, epic space fantasy overall and really liked other than some of the humor

Seems like it’s everything I would want from a He-Man movie, granted, I was never a huge He-Man fan to begin with. I had older brothers who liked it back in the 80’s, so I played with their hand-me-down toys, but never cared about the reboot. I was more interested in GI-Joe, Transformers, and Thundercats from the same time period. In the early 2000’s, I was all-in on Toonami and the Fox adult cartoons like The Simpsons and Family Guy.

I'm a genx guy who really liked the cartoon when I was a kid so this should be a movie I'm interested in. Here's the problem, a lot of people have been burned so many times with woke nonsense being injected into movies/tv shows. People are no longer willing to give the benefit of the doubt to this type of content. It's better/easier/cheaper to just wait until word of mouth reveals if it's worth watching. How long until someone makes a Thundercats movie?

I'm sensitive to the bullshite too so I'll try to give a fair take. Going to the early screening tomorrow night.

is this kids friendly? I see its PG-13 but could i take 6-8 yos?

Seems to have a decent amount of sex jokes and adult innuendo based on reviews. Probably safe for middle schoolers but not little kids. Granted, it’d go completely over the heads of kids that young, I would imagine.

I've seen one commercial for this movie, and that was as a preview before Hail Mary (in the theater). Otherwise, I wouldn't have even known it exists.
Assuming they're actually wanting us to watch it, where in the hell are they even marketing this thing?
This. I only know this movie exists because a YouTuber I regularly watched talked about the trailer a few months back.

Jeremy says to think of this as a He Man comedy.
Says Leto is money, Elba is good, Brie is kinda pointless.

They didn’t have the fried chicken and ribs, that was the secret.

I think it's aimed at Gen-Xer nostalgia.

It got them nowhere because Rian Johnson got ahold of them.
But hey, expectations were subverted, were they not?

the cartoon/super hero fatigue is very real
MOTU is a toy line that hasn't been relevant in decades. I have no idea who thought this was a good idea for a modern movie. Most under 30m have no bloody idea what MOTU even is. They probably think it's a Game of Thrones ripoff or something.
