You mean a show with 50 episodes of content people could view, on by far the most popular service, had more viewing minutes than a fantasy show with only a handful of episodes?

I would guess more people have Amazon prime than a Netflix subscription.

It is unfair to compare any show to House Of The Dragon.

HOD is the best show I have seen in a few years. If they put together another few seasons as good as the last one it will be in my big 6.

I haven’t talked to a single person who has even started Rings of Power.

The great thing about HOD is that the end result has been written so they are just filling in little gaps but they aren’t needed to deviate or anything. We are getting George’s content, not clowns like D&D.

Mean either. Been asking around some of my friends, and none of them have watched it.

If GRRM ever finishes his books, I think Peope are gonna realize he had no idea where he was going and will be severely disappointed.

He has a lot of strengths as a writer cohesive plot isn’t one of them.

Also names aren’t his strength. We’re about to meet Lord Grover in Riverrun and his Son, Elmo. Elmo will go on to sire… Kermit.

Laugh all you want, but there are multiple stories out about the showrunners being 'sidelined' b/c the show is a disaster.

I certainly hope so. This first season was boring and a mess story wise, but there was a lot to like. The visuals and sound design were fantastic. The actors did fine with what they were given. Get some competent show runners in there and you can make this a show where everyone sees the first season as a dud but then it picks up. At this point, that's pretty much the only way I watch season 2.

In the end it seems Amazon did not get the viewers they were hoping for. It had potential but the writing and direction was just awful. Yes I understand a handful on here will defend it until the end and so be it. But even on this board there seem to be more who were disappointed like me than those who liked it. I am not talking about those that did not watch it and bash but those who gave it a try and walked away like ok not bad but definitely not great.

The ones that liked it were probably the target demographic that liked Jackson version of Tolkien's universe vs the books. I am glad some enjoyed it but I would wager Amazon to push out a second season is going to do some real soul searching about how it is done and the build up for it. Amazon has the resources so hopefully they can meet expectations in future seasons.

Maybe I need to get back into Andor.

The first two episodes were just so fricking boring. Really took the wind out of my sails. Having trouble firing up episode 4.
