It must be pretty bad. The BBC gave it 2/5 stars and I’m not sure I have seen them rate a movie lower than 4/5 stars.

I went with my 4 and 6 year old on Thursday night. 15 people tops there. My kids knew about the movie WELL before the wokeness was known to all.
I didnt think about it but yes Buzz is 100% the only white person in the entire movie.
Also at one point the daughter of the lesbians makes a statement about her dad as well which confused me.

Honestly, how do you frick up to this extent a Buzz Lightyear movie? I don’t see how it’s possible it could gross lower than a Cars movie.

The new Fantastic Beasts had a similar opening night. $20 million Friday, $13.8 million Saturday, $8.3 million Sunday.
The estimations are usually pretty accurate.

It's pretty clear they knew they had a crap product so they threw in a lesbian kiss to get the critics who are all woke to rate it highly. Probably the first movie with groundbreaking wokeness that some critics rated poorly. You know the writers are shocked.

It could also have something to do with all of the people who watched it before opening night. I don't remember advance screenings being a thing 10+ years ago. I think all of those are counted as opening night $$.

This is why no one should just "see it and decide for yourself". I'm done with that. Hollywood lost that trust a long time ago with just bad movies.

Because they have Friday totals. It was around 15 mil (actual number not counting thurs). From there Saturday will be about 25-30% higher, and Sunday should be a small drop since it's a holiday weekend.

If this had been Lightyear in the Top Gun mold, I’d have seen it numerous times.
He’s one of my favorite characters from my childhood and I have absolutely zero interest in it because of the eye roll cringe-worthiness of throwing black female characters at these properties simply because they can’t draw audiences to their own stories
