This is when SNL had great and creative writers. The 70's probably were the best though.

I remember being nine and ten and laughing until it hurt at that show during those years. So many tGOAT’s on the cast

SNL was great before everything went PC. Imagine calling the 49ers "da queers" in 2021 like in this skit. The whole show would be taken off the air.

I think the early 90s were the best. But of course I'm sentimental to the age I was when I started getting the jokes.

I’d love to find a clip of the NFL kickers,

“We are kickers, we play with ball, we kick the ball!”

“I am Raul, I kick the ball.
I kick the ball, I am Raul!
Brrr Green Bay!
Brrr Green Bay!”

I think everybody goes through a phase in the early teen years when they are too old for kid stuff but too young to go out and have adult fun. That's the magic window when SNL resonates and people will always have a bond with that era, the cast and the skits written. Then you leave the show to do normal young adult stuff and when you settle down and revisit it everything suddenly sucks. That seems to be the cycle. But a new generation is obviously watching enthusiastically.

Star Wars movies are kind of the same.

Someone on TD posted a picture of Kamala Harris' stepdaughter and her boyfriend a while back. Deiter reminds me of both. Can't remember who it was but very funny.
