You're not wrong. But he was tired of being harassed by his a-hole older brother and when he does stick up for himself and it's obvious that Buzz was the instigator, the family still takes Buzz's side.
I can see why Kevin would be frustrated. Buzz needed his arse whipped.

I’m sure it’s been brought up but the hotel worker’s attempt to apprehend Kevin before he escapes into the elevator is the worst attempt of all time. Just stands there with her arms out like he’s coming in for a bear hug

When the wet bandits are robbing the other house and get the voice mail that Peter McAlister is leaving about being in Paris, they know the house is empty.
They go by there that night and Kevin has all the stuff going on to make it look busy.
Instead of going "well, someone is there, let's move on", they say "we'll come back tomorrow". Why? There are people there.

Watching now. The kids are all pretty decent actors for being kids. Buzz’s delivery is solid. “I wouldn’t let you sleep in my room if you were growing on my arse.”
Side note, how do you have four middle aged people and a handful of teenagers and NOBODY wakes up by 08:00am? After Kevin went to bed did they start taking tequila shots? No adult with that many kids can sleep like that. It would have been more realistic if they had to be out the door at 06:00.
Next side note, I’m getting old because this is the first time I’ve watched this movie and thought “hey Kevin’s mom could get it.”

We watched the opening of Home Alone 2 last night. How Buzz and the others were humiliating Kevin during his solo and the parents and everyone was laughing, then Buzz gives some half arse excuse and apology and everyone is mad at Kevin. Loved that scene where he called the uncle a cheapskate. I’m sitting here thinking regardless of what kind of person Kevin is, his family are utter pieces of shite.

He’s probably a cheapskate because he doesn’t have gainful employment. What kind of 50 year man with half a dozen kids doesn’t wake up even once by 08:00am? Not one with a job.

The scene where the mom and dad are explaining to the airport security guy how this happened last year really reinforces it. They have no concept of how big of a deal this is.
