I actually enjoyed myself. It certainly is about the limit of what I can turn my brain off to but it reminded me a lot of Kong Skull Island which I enjoy

And finally, who do they think is buying the absurd narrative that “people got tired of dinosaurs”, and that the only way to keep the parks going is to invent new, genetically mutated monsters?

I believe this was meta commentary.

People said that after Dominion, but people just got tired of that story, so they killed it and brought it back to the roots (Dinos on jungle island). They "killed off" the JW trilogy in the opening exposition.

I could be wrong, but I think the new direction is to get away from the mutations, hence why the big bad looked retarded.

Just like how they wanted to get away from raptors being the stars every movie (with the scene where they set up the raptors only to have them unceremoniously killed).

Saw it. Is exactly what you expect.
Scientist have yet another island of dinosaurs previously unmentioned. Something needed from dinosaur blood. Containment failure due to shoddy security again. The only big twist was now people are bored with dinosaurs and that the equator is basically of limits to people (what about the millions who live on equator)? It wasn't bad it wasn't good. It was better than the other World movies, maybe second or third best of the 7 movies.

Wife wanted to see it so we did. Saw it in XD and 3D. Visibility it was great but as the last couple Jurrassic park movies it predictable and borders on cringe worthy on the story. Wife loved it but me 5 out of 10 not terrible.

Eta:SPOILER

The girl pulling the yellow raft out while the T-rex was right there. I just shook my head hey girl how about waiting til the T-rex leaves.

I had a problem with that scene from the get-go. How many teenage girls would even agree to go wading across the murky jungle water to begin with? And her dad just lets her go. At least they gave him a limp as an excuse whereas the capable boyfriend just watches because going himself or even going with her would ruin the “girl power”.

Odd question to ask after how well publicized her recent comments regarding the 'male gaze' which came out, just like week or so.

No, she doesn't get nekkid, but still finds herself in very form fitting T - shirts and there's a gratuitous arse shot or three.

Despite her protest about being objectified, she's got no problem showing off her body features, if not bare skin.

Will I be lost in this movie if I didn’t watch any of the Chris Pratt movies?

There's so much wrong with that sequence of events. They don't know if 'following the river' will take them to the alleged village. Nor do they know if it's navigable. But because dad 'hurt' his leg, but not enough to hobble along as fast as the rest, a boat MUST be gotten.

Without breaking it all down, there's not a single thing in that series of events that makes a lick of sense. I'll say it again, they all should be dead, and it's not even close.

I'd say all anyone needs is a basic idea of the "Jurassic " franchise. It doesn't lean too heavily on anything from the past regarding plot or characters.

Rebirth was a silly name, but it sums it up nicely. Maybe do over, reboot, or 'How about if we try this?' instead.

NGL, ScarJo has a presence.

That scene in Ironman 2 where she looks up at Tony when he's in the ring and he says "what?" just because her eyes are so damn ...yeah, that's me.

They were. Until dad hurt his leg then they needed to use the stream so that meant they needed a boat so he wouldn’t have to walk. The plot was all super contrived anyways just so things could happen on the big screen.

frick that dad man. I can’t believe we were supposed to be rooting for him

1. Bring your 8 year old on a floating shoebox in the middle of the pacific
2. Let your other daughter sleep with her pothead semi-retarded boyfriend 5 feet from you
3. Get REAL pissy when these random strangers, who saved your life btw, endanger your children slightly more than you did on your “vacation”

I enjoyed the dinosaur scenes but half the people that are supposed to be likable sucked a big one. In a happy ending, that dad is getting served with a Divorce Modification a week after returning home

Now that you mention it - the dad was the worst character in the entire movie
At first I thought it was the boyfriend, but he wouldn't have even been there if not for the dad letting him come along
What a piece of shite
