That was insane. Only one of his games has been even remotely competitive and that was only for a brief time.

One of the crazy aspects of this is that today's episode was taped in the third week of February. They were taping five shows a day, three days a week during that block. None of these other contestants had any idea that this guy existed. They just sat off screen and watched him destroy the competition until their show was called, then they went on set and got destroyed. They had no idea that the best player in history was mowing them down five episodes a day.

Got 40 correct. Probably meets the cutoff, but the invites are still a crapshoot.

Yea. I've got that many a couple times and got no response.
I hate how the quizzes are so heavy on the arts, but then you see one, maybe two arts categories during an actual game. The Wednesday quiz I took was almost 1/3 arts questions and that is my weakest subject.

yeah i was somewhere in the 38-42 range depending on a couple answers being accepted. i doubt ill get an audition, even though i "passed."
i think i may turn it down as i really feel like im 5-10 years away from being a pretty good contestant. right now, i'd likely lose day 1.

I don't have any evidence to back this up but I would think being younger, at least in the mid 20s to early 30s range, is an advantage.
Maybe a touch quicker on the clicker and your knowledge base is probably still a little more well rounded. Get much beyond that and you may start to lose your pop culture and your English literature acumen (as two examples) if those are not part of your everyday life.

Wasn’t the largest single round record in history $75,000 before this guy? He’s averaging over 70k per episode!
The previous record was $106k.
He has broken that twice now.

Set by him the first time he broke someone else's.

Perhaps. I'm 32 and I still remember a lot of stuff that has never been a part of everyday life. What gets me are the same subjects I've always been bad in and don't have the drive to learn, e.g. poetry, literature, opera, etc.

Roger Craig had the previous record with 77k.
The day he set it he went back to back true daily doubles.
Roger Craig back to back daily doubles

Just think, the max some one can win with a perfect game and hitting the DD’s at end of each round, and them being placed on the lowest dollar amount questions is
$175,200 before Final Jeopardy
Or $350,400
So he won nearly 40% of all money available yesterday.

I get 556,800 as the max you can win assuming you get every question right, get the daily doubles last and they are the lowest possible amount (400 in single, 800 in double) and always wager the max. Possible I made a mistake though.

Lowest amount is $200 first round, $400 second round
$18,000 round one
$36,000 round two
So actually
$17,800 plus DD round one
$35,200 plus two DD’s
$18,000 round one
$36,000 round two
So actually
$17,800 plus DD round one
$35,200 plus two DD’s
