This is not a spoiler, but it's pretty widely accepted that the current champion, James, is about to go on quite a tear. what that means, we aren't quite sure, but jeopardy/local affiliates have put out teasers that it's impressive.

"Every record is in Jeopardy!"

last night only confirmed that as he won $40,000+ in his first game, which is a ridiculous number. join in on the fun now

I would be more enthusiastic if it weren't at the expense of the previous 5-day champ from UGA.

We have a Facebook group of former Jeopardy! contestants. According to quite few of them who are also into quiz bowls, trivia leagues and the like, this guy is a kind of a legend on the trivia tournament circuit.

day 2 total rivals his day 1 winnings. wasn't quite as dominant as expected, but he bids really well and he knows his stuff. im very intrigued to see where this will go.

He was on that show The Chase and it was like nothing I have ever seen, he made the Beast look like a retarded 5 yr old. I would take him over Ken Jennings any day of the week.

What was the purpose of marketing him as breaking all the records before he ever started ?

So people would watch from the start?

I mean it sort of spoils it that he’s gonna go on such a tear .

I’m calling bullshite on all of this. He’s a plant designed to get ratings up before Alex moves along. He claims to be a professional sports bettor, I’ve never heard of him, and he didn’t know what kind of kick the NFL moved back to the 15 yard line a few years ago. Moving the extra point back has been HUGE in sports betting and if you claim to be a professional you would’ve known it as soon as the question was over.

He beat the breaks off the Beast in The Chase 5 years ago.

He has also been on 500 questions.
