No, adding more women isn’t moving the target. Only people who get triggered over the hero not being white dude think that

Jesus Christ. Once again. Look at the OP. I did not mention race ONCE. You fricks read what you want to believe I wrote. It's clear I am not dealing with the sharpest tools in the shed.

I will say it one more time. It is pretty clear that marvel is choosing women to be the face of upcoming movies/shows at a higher frequency than years past. Women are highlighted as the main protagonists more often now than in years past. Most of the viewers of the MCU are men. Is this a smart decision?

frick. Stop bringing race into this question.

You have to understand where these liberals are coming from. Anything dealing with black people has to be treated with kid gloves so you don't upset them. The liberals, I mean. They view black people as super duper fragile children that have to be coddled. Meanwhile, every single black person I know wanted them to recast the part.

Hasn't every MCU show since Endgame pretty much emasculated/replaced the nominal male lead? Hawkeye was glaringly obvious. But wasn't Loki put in his place by a female on his own show?

MultivMultiverse of madness kind of did the same with the hispanic girl too.

Oh yeah Jane is female thor now lol

Seriously tho Echo and Agatha getting their own series is the most shocking to me. Echo was from Hawkeye series but do you even remember her?

Also the bait and switch they did in loki and the multiverse of madness where the lady is the actual hero instead of the title character is bs they need to stop that.

You thought Loki would be the "hero?"

Jane & Chavez's roles in those movies did nothing to diminish/replace/emasculate Thor & Dr. Strange.

It sounds like y'all would just prefer all female roles to be weak like old school Pepper Potts.

Dude, Black Panter is an outlier. NOBODY expected it to be the hit it was, and it's main star died suddenly.

I really don’t understand why they didn’t just replace him, it’s not like that would be unprecedented in comic book movies or even the MCU.

When she looks at the camera, rolls her eyes with a smirk, and says, "Men", she's emasculating us all.

Don't you get it?

How low do your testosterone levels have to be to feel attacked by a Disney+ show?

TChalla is an iconic character. Boseman is an actor.

For reference, Anthony Mackie or Don Cheadle would be recast, immediately.

I disagree slightly on Jane. While they presented her as more human, she wasn't the bumbling buffoon they've turned Thor into. Her presentation was far more of a straight-forward action hero (although eventually tragic) whereas Thor was presented as a happy goof who somehow bumbles his way through winning. Her presence detracted from his by highlighting the massive discrepancy in presentations.

Note, this really has nothing to do with Jane being a woman, just being a more heroic presentation of Thor.

i think they are testing the waters where they can.

black panther is a good testing point for them. Chadwicks death gives them some room to test. Most of the time when i saw someone losing their shite about how awesome it was to have such a strong African American in a superhero movie it was some middle aged black lady. i could see this being a successful move.

trust me, they having lost sight of shite. its always been making money. If they can make more money with moves that may piss off older loyal fans, they are going to do it.

Eh, you're reaching here. Since the pandemic Marvel has released:

Black Widow
Eternals
Spider-Man
Doctor Strange
Thor

One of those is a movie where the lead is a female, another is a group movie, and the other three are led by male heroes.

Black Panther is only a female because of the passing of Chadwick Boseman.

The next two years you have:

Ant-Man
Guardians
The Marvels
Blade
Captain America
Thunderbolts
Deadpool
Fantastic Four

Again, pretty male heavy.

Plus several recent TV Shows:

Loki
Falcon/Winter Solider
Moon Knight
Hawkeye

The bait and switch (female character replaced male lead as most powerful or central character) was pulled with:

Hawkeye
Moon Knight
Doctor Strange
Loki

Thor had a heavy female emphasis. Black Widow replaced a male villain with a female. The only movie where they left the original characters intact was Spider-Man. Not surprisingly that was the best movie out of the bunch

The industry doesn't care what you want unless you stop watching. Vote with your eyes.

Don Cheadle was the replacement for Terrence Howard. Terrence was better in the role, IMO.

Hawkeye - I'll give you this one
Moon Knight - Not even close
Doctor Strange - No- Chavez played an important role in the movie, but didn't "replace" Dr. Strange in any way.
Loki - Not even close

Do you want only men in these movies going forward?

Wanda was the most powerful. America was the central mystery. Strange has gone from brilliant Sorcerer Supreme to less powerful and lacking in wisdom

That's a dumb strawman argument
