I didn’t think much of it the first time I saw it, but the more I watch the more I love it. It’s easily 4th for me after the OT movies.

I loved TFA upon first viewing, and the more I watch it, now that the other two came out, the more I don’t like it. Hell I actually saw it 4 times in theaters. First time in my life I saw a movie more than once in theaters, much less 4 times.

I mean, when you look at it from a distance, this is true.

I'll qualify it, though: "Star Wars" as a whole, meaning the concept and universe for the OT and prequels, isn't terrible, it's brilliant. It's created an entire sub-genre that we've been eager to see more stories within.

As for individual movies, Star Wars and Empire were good movies. Star Wars is the better standalone, Empire is better made and acted. Together they are the engine of the above sub-genre.
The prequels are bad movies, but serve as encyclopedias for that universe. You need the info you get from them, but they aren't the most compelling performances. They're like reading history books instead of novels.

Rogue One is the best, and really the only story that fits into that universe, until the Mandalorian came out. It's recognizably "Star Wars". It's not a great movie, but it's in synch with everything.

The sequels ... aren't. They just don't fit, and it's going to take a lot of side-stories to make them fit. Even though it has all the original characters, there's no connection to the original story.

Admiral Raddus and Anton Meric are my favorite Star Wars characters outside of the OT characters.

eh, i did like knowing the story about how princess got the death star plans, but the end was kind of weak.
