It is fine for kids and does not go woke. In fact it is made up of couples that are men and women. The fire girl falls for man... he is soft and cryer... but still a man. Her parents are man and woman. Dad is loud and mother is thoughtful.

Was expecting much much worse. Really is a cartoon with traditional role models.

Movie is okay, not great.

There is literally no gay propaganda in this movie. All of the main characters come from families with two parents, male and female. Family being what’s important is literally the main point of the movie. The message in the movie is that you should respect your family but also not to be afraid to live your own life, also you shouldn’t judge people just based on what they are but rather get to know them and give them a chance.

Unless you are an actual racist and against all interracial relationships, I actually don’t think you could create a more wholesome movie.

It's an interracial relationship allegory.

My wife took my kids to see it.

My 10 year old thought it was meh and doesn’t wish to see it again.

My 6 and 8 year olds enjoyed it.

I guess they’re going to eventually cut their weiners off.

My wife liked it too but she’s still a woman thus far.

It's gotta be exhausting looking for a non-existent boogeyman in everything you see.

It will be subtle. That's the way they want it to slip it into your kids subconscious.

Yep. My kids thought it was okay (6&8). There is no “gay agenda”; it’s a mediocre Pixar movie.

subtle messages like “gay people exist”

why does it always seem to be the free thinkers who accuse everyone of being sheep who are so concerned about their kids being brainwashed and try make sure they’re exposed to nothing outside the status quo from like 20 years ago.

Wait until you see the preview for Dante and Aristotle Discover The Secrets of the Universe.

It IS a gay coming of age movie with young boys running around in the rain in their underwear among other things.

Pixar's Elemental marked a major first in the animation studio's long history, introducing a non-binary character to its long list of iconic animated figures.Actor Kai Ava Hauser, who is also nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, announced on social media that Lake Ripple identifies as nonbinary, marking the first nonbinary character in Pixar's history.

So is this the status quo now?

I haven't shown it to mine. We also turned off that boy-fish one.

Go read the reviews for something like Good Dinosaur and you'll see the problem. It's boring and wholesome, doesn't address social issues, and doesn't have anything for adults - so it sucks.

the Good Dinosaur sucks, not because it doesn’t address social issues, it’s just the worst movie Pixar has made

Perfection

Sorry bud, I know it's annoying that Pixar made one movie truly catered to families with little kids, but you'll survive

I can list the number of movies Pixar made with 0 social commentary.

the Good Dinosaur is the worst of all of them.

this isn’t a political opinion. if you like the good dinosaur you are boring as frick.

what did you like about The Good Dinosaur?

I watched it, nothing blatant that made you think anything and nothing that kids would notice

The whole movie was pretty meh and not very good
It was boring

This probably won't make any sense to you:

I like The Good Dinosaur because my kids like it, it's age-appropriate and wholesome for little kids. It's not obnoxious or annoying and the visuals are pleasant, which is nice as a parent.

But rest assured I'll tell my toddler he's boring as frick because he prefers a remade Land Before Time to non-binary aquatic characters
