“It’s a very good movie, but Donkey Kong is the best movie ever.”
I love Billy Madison, it’s great. But it’s nowhere near the best comedy of all time. For the last 30 years for me, that answer has been Dumb & Dumber.
Billy Madison is awesome though, and very highly quotable.

It’s top 5 for me, but not even my favorite from the 90s Sandler comedy genre. I grew up in the 90s on those comedies. Basically all of the most quotable movies in my arsenal come from all those.
Billy Madison
Happy Gilmore
The Waterboy
The Wedding Singer
Big Daddy
Little Nicky
Mr Deeds
Anger Management
It’s as if if I ever saw any of those dvds in a bin at the store I’d expect them to be all together in a collectors DVD set they’re so interchangeable for me. I can rewatch any of those whenever. I love them all

Big Lebowski. A Cohen Bros masterpiece.

I can’t go all the way to GOAT, but I absolutely love it, despite the fact that it was not really made for my demographic at all. My whole family quotes it very often—too often.
There are so many weird great little moments…the Culture Club dance on the stairs, the O’Doyles, Norm—“Marco! Polo!”, Chris Farley, and the Steve Buscemi bit is not only hilarious, but introduced my 24 year old to ELO in the bargain.
It’s a good one.

One of my wife's all-timer. I've probably seen it 50 times by now

One of my favorites, but it’s not the greatest comedy of all time. I think it’s tough to pin down any one movie as the greatest movie of any genre.
Every time someone says some movie is the greatest of all time, more people will disagree than agree. All I can say is that I’ve seen Anchorman more than any other comedy. As for my most often watched movie in general, it’s close between pulp fiction and the fellowship of the ring

I agree with this. That being said, these first 3 are on another level of funny compared to the rest. His other movies all have their moments, but those first 3 made me laugh my arse off the entire time

Is (insert movie) the greatest (insert something) of all time?
The answer is always no.

Call me old, but I think Blazing Saddles, Airplane!, Spaceballs, and Animal House are all better.
