Nah, all of the various 'cock' posters on this board have been consistently awful.

Was the showing you went to full? Or at least half full? Curious to see how the ticket sales are going.

I went to a 5pm showing on a Thursday. There were about 20 people in our theater.

I didn’t even really review it. I just have a statement that didn’t agree with your preconceived view of the movie.

Either watch the movie or shut the frick up

The BBC review after Cannes said first part is good, then not great. This is a quote from the end of it:

quote:

I'm not sure how many fans want to see Indiana Jones as a broken, helpless old man who cowers in the corner while his patronising goddaughter takes the lead, but that's what we're given, and it's as bleak as it sounds.

I haven't seen it yet and may not, so can't speak directly about it. I feel like this review is a middle take from what I have seen.

Old Indy is nothing but a thinly veiled self insert of every Hollywood actor / director who fears getting old, obsolete & forgotten for a younger hotter replacement. These Disney films are all just therapy sessions on the big screen.

Change my mind.

Pretty sure we all called this before the movie script was ever written

I liked it… Nazi’s , and time travel, and Indiana Jones, and Romans! I was entertained, although it went a little long IMO

Much much better than Crystal Skulls

it's hilarious how every semi-positive review in this thread from people that actually went and saw it gets downvoted by people that haven't because reviewers like Nerdrotic told them it was gone be super woke and terrible before they even watched it.

The film isn't super woke. It's just bad. The villain is uninteresting and unimposing, Phoebe Waller Bridge's character is insufferable and tries to kill Indy twice over the course of the movie's runtime. Indiana Jones is a tired, broken old man who takes a back seat to much of the action that takes place around him. And the ending is just silly. So silly and meaningless in fact you can tell that it went through a shite ton of reshoots. Marian just shows up and then the film just kind of ends rather awkwardly.

About the only thing I can say that's positive is that at least it wasn't as disappointing as the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But that's probably because my expectations for this film were already low and it met those expectations.

And this and the need to do this by those who green-lit this, is why those who loved Indiana Jones are not enthusiastic about this movie.

The typical millennial dipshits who hate boomers? It may be just what they need to get by.

First projections out on Deadline this morning have it limping to $60 million if it doesn't fall apart tonight.

Mike Zeroh on how PWB and KK intentionally made Indy a broken man whose son is dead and whose wife left him. Mangold was basically a yes man for KK and PWB in this movie.

So basically, the Luke Skywalker formula. Someone needs to shoot these spiteful, talentless dumb bitches.

It’s the current trend. Rey, Capt Marvel, Galadriel, now this. All these characters are carbon copy of each other. It may be the “cool and new” thing to do short term. But long term, these movies wont stand the test of time because they don’t have rewatching power or iconic moments. How many people do you know rewatch they Ghostbusters remake? How often do you hear memorable quotes from these movies like “Luke, I am your father” or “you shall not pass”. They will be forgotten because they haven’t become a part of the pop culture.

They aren't trying to entertain or create quality. They're intentionally destroying all off the classic white male characters. And word has it that China picks up the slack with money, so they can fail all they want. This is why KK never gets fired, despite nothing but failure.

But hey, maybe I'm giving them too much credit. Maybe they really do think this is awesome storytelling, and they keep doubling and tripling down because they're spiteful females who think the only reason they fail is because of ______-ism.

Anyone who points to Mike Zeroh loses any credibility.
