Well it's pretty simple if a movie that you think is terrible makes a lot of money you can be sure they'll make more like it. I'm still upset Blade Runner 2049 didn't do well at the box office.

Well, this is the Movie/TV board. Most of us here have an interest in filmmaking in general. Whether a movie makes money or not is critical because studios use that info in determining the types of movies that they will make in the future.

For Indiana Jones in particular, it is an iconic series that many grew up with. Disney has spent $300 million making this final Harrison Ford film. Many fans are not happy with the way the character is portrayed and how they made fleabag the star with Ford taking a back seat.

If it is the flop many are predicting, it will hopefully mean Kathleen Kennedy is finally shown the door.

This is a small chance she would be replaced with someone with intelligence and creativity. This is important as Disney dominates the film industry and having a fresh face in charge of Lucasfilm might bring about change in the industry as a whole.

It will also be fun to watch Bob Iger melt down again. frick that guy.

I'd honestly rather go watch "Sound of Freedom" a film literally about child sex trafficking, than this piece of shite this weekend...

Tom Cruise can't get here fast enough in 2 weeks.

Hope you enjoy it!

I’ll try to see it this weekend or on the 4th.

I’ve seen mostly positive opinions on reddit.

I think it hits around $65m domestic 1st week and will suffer massive 2nd and 3rd week drops. Globally, I think it stays under $550m when all is said and done.

If worse, than Lucasfilm has ruined this IP forever

The IP is ruined by Father Time. Nobody wants to see a 90 year old Indy and nobody wants to see a non-Ford Indy.

This might not be the board for you.

It doesn’t look very good, so I don’t care how it does.

I think it's tragic that National Geographic is now controlled by Disney.

I used to love NatGeo. Their latest series is called Never Say Never. It's about a morbidly obese black man going on adventures all over the world because according to the lead "I've never seen people like me on adventure shows." Really? Maybe that is because your morbid obesity will hamstring the "adventure" and limit it to things like your fat arse in a raft. What exciting programing. Finally obesity is represented in the wild adventure genre. Maybe your first adventure should be going on a diet.

The business side of the movie industry is more interesting than the movies themselves these days

This is the conclusion you come to about someone wanting to watch a film that's against child sex trafficking?

You're pretty sick Chubbs.

Looks like previews will be around 7 million, so walkups are worse than I thought. My prediction of 63 mil might be too high.

I have not yet read a review that says Ford takes a backseat. I have seen youtube idiots speculate as much, and you posters here giving such idiots credibility remains mystifying.

My buddy from out of town is coming and wants to go see this this weekend. I'm going because he wants to but would have never went on my own. This is going to be so bad. The previews look live a video game with all the CGI.

Most of the reviews that bother with that question find Jones to be portrayed as old, tired and most of the rogue-ish qualities that made him endearing have been left to Waller-Bridge's character, who chides him throughout. I suspect that was much more pronounced in earlier cuts, which was amended in clumsy re-writes to soften the blow a bit. Overall, it just sounds like a movie no one's heart was in other than the need to diminish another popular franchise character and a cheap cash grab. For the latter, I hope this thing fails miserably.

What's stupid about this is they're killing themselves. Deadpool 3 co starring Wolverine was a good idea maybe try more of that.

John Williams' score for the film is up on Spotify. If nothing else, we got more great music out of this.

Harrison Ford should have done a sequel of Cocoon.
