She isn’t relatable, is arrogant and overpowered, brought zero humor to the table, and was just dropped haphazardly into a franchise full of characters fleshed out for over a decade now as the ultimate deus ex machina.

Pretty easy to see how people can dislike her entry even without politics being brought into it.

Wrong. It's because Bree Larson is a super c.unt and cardboard actress.

Plenty of women have had plenty of kickass roles and people love them. People don't respect this iteration of Captain Marvel because the casting sucked arse.

Isn't being haughty Iron Man's main personality feature?

Iron Man is also funny and goes through an entire story arc where he battles depression and the internal balance between his desire to live a normal life and be a superhero.

This serves to make him more human and relatable and this combined with his vibrant personality and quick wit made him likable. The comparison is apples and oranges.

and RDJ had hookers and did crazy amount of drugs. I dislike her but lets not act as if all the other marvel actors are pristine. Brie leaving her husband for another man is the tamest thing compare to what the others got up to.

She went off on Chris Hemsworth and apparently hasnt endeared herself to several other actors on the set as well..
She's a Grade-A Fembitch who thinks she's better than everyone else around her.

The last person who did that was recast (Terrence Howard). Let's see if Feige has the balls to make that call.

That's the same interview that was referenced earlier in this thread. You should really watch the whole thing instead of just the Twitter snippets,

And if you consider anything in that link her "going off" on him, then you might be the most fragile male I've ever come across.

Angela

I had no idea this character was in Marvel now. Isn't she a good guy though?

Block of text explains (interesting details):

quote:

In 1993 McFarlane contracted Neil Gaiman, along with three other recognized authors, Alan Moore, Dave Sim, and Frank Miller, to write one issue of Spawn. While doing so, Gaiman introduced the characters Angela, Cogliostro, and Medieval Spawn. All three characters were co-created and designed by series creator Todd McFarlane. The series continued to feature all of the characters after Gaiman's involvement ended. Some characters had tie-ins with McFarlane's toy company, and Cogliostro had a prominent role in the live-action movie in 1997. McFarlane had initially agreed that Gaiman retained creator rights to the characters, but later claimed that Gaiman's work had been work-for-hire and that McFarlane owned all of Gaiman's co-creations entirely, pointing to the legal indicia of Spawn #9 and the lack of legal contract stating otherwise. McFarlane had also refused to pay Gaiman for the volumes of Gaiman's work that McFarlane republished and kept in print. In 2002, Gaiman filed suit and won a sizable judgment against McFarlane and Image Comics for the rights due any creator. All three characters were then equally co-owned by both men. In 2012, McFarlane and Gaiman settled their dispute,[19] and Gaiman was given full ownership of Angela.[20]

On March 21, 2013, Comic Book Resources announced that Angela would be introduced into the Marvel Comics Universe as a major character later in the year, to coincide with Neil Gaiman's return to the company.[1] BleedingCool later confirmed that Marvel Comics had completely bought the rights to Angela from Gaiman.[21]

Let’s briefly compare Capt Marvel to other cocky MCU characters (pun intended):

Iron Man— cocky, smart, and rich. Learns humility, stops war profiteering, devotes time and riches to save others, nearly dies from the device that keeps him alive, struggles with alcohol, anger, PTSD, eventually becomes monogamous. Has an arc.

Dr. Strange—cocky, smart, and rich. Man of science learns humility and spirituality, loses everything he has, struggled with recovery and frustration, becomes selfless. Willing to spend eternity in a loop to save everyone. Has an arc.

Thor—cocky, powerful, and spoiled. Learns about humility, honor, respect and responsibility. Has powers taken from him until he earns them. Has an arc.

Capt. Marvel—smug, stoic, and super OP. Has no faults. Doesn’t learn anything except that her male superior is a liar and held her back. Becomes even more powerful. Bland arc, if there even is one.

There’s a clear distinction.

Captain America doesn’t have many faults, but he’s not OP. Plus he’s humble and has a do-gooder type of innocence.

Even if you ignore Brie Larson’s political activism and the obvious shoehorning of this character/story into this universe, you’re still stuck with an unlikeable character and a meh story. Plain and simple. Wonder Woman was great. The End

I have no problem with Larson but it’s hilarious watching you continue go to bat for her

She’s been mediocre in the role so far. Could and probably will change though.

Right?

Green Chili is the only male on TD.com I’ve seen consistently shill for her. I think he’s a touch full of soy that he just enjoys watching Larson piss off real red blooded males, especially conservative white males.

He wouldn’t give a shite about her if she’s someone who keeps her politics to herself like say ScarJo or the hot Olsen sister.

All this. She’s too powerful and her character is humorless.
