For whatever reason I rewatched it over the weekend, the final season really was so bad .

Over rushed for no reason thanks to D and D .

and the ironic part is Star Wars fired D&D

I think you got that backwards. Netflix gave them a better deal and D&D said screw you to Kathleen Kennedy & co.

I think I rewatched S1-4 three to four times, and S1-8 ep. 5 two times. I defended the show more than most all the way up to the series finale. I didnt think there could have been a bad enough finale to make me never watch it again...

Im never watching it again.

I have no desire to rewatch GOT again. I would consider watching an Arya Stark spinoff as long and D&D weren't involved with such a project.

I rewatched the first 6 seasons probably like 6 different times. I loved that show. I have no desire to rewatch even the good parts anymore because the ending was such a flop. That’s exactly what it is. A flop.

Same. It’s funny this thread was made because I was thinking about this very thing recently. Never ever was there a show I was this into and this primed about that I have absolutely zero desire to watch a single episode again.
Like you I was the battered wife all through the last season “but they were really setting up Arya!!1!1!”
And then bran happens.

Friggin bran. Weirdo bran.
Not of that world bran.

That entire last meeting was so out of character for so many major and minor characters from all the 7 kingdoms it completely ruined everything. It’s not even the last season. The last 15 minutes of an 8 season long show completely ruined absolutely everything

I turned it off pissed off and have yet to rewatch a second of any episode

In order to put the Djinn back in the Jar (teehee Witcher Reference) there would have to be a retcon of Season 7 and 8 with the book material.

Whats the problem there? NO BOOKS

The last season broke me.

Up until season 7 I had rewatched the series three times. I listed to multiple podcasts talking about the episodes, the lore, etc.

Season 7 was disappointing, but you could feel there was hope and could get over the “shortcuts” if they were needed.

After Season 8, I have no desire to watch an episode again. All of the podcasts were essentially just joking the show at the end. Just brutal how the last two seasons even killed the joy from the earlier seasons

GOT was bound to be the GOAT show of modern times, and the last season destroyed it

I re-watched it with my mother on HBO Now since she was waiting for it to be released onto physical media. I figured I would save her the money from renting it and get over the disappointment of the final season. Her reaction to the ending was "Are you kidding me?"

I would’ve never believed that Star Wars and Game of Thrones, two of the biggest properties in Hollywood three years ago could’ve been burned to the ground in such a short period of time.

Talking billions in lost future revenue and two completely jaded fan bases in just a few short years.

I have been vested in that series since 2003ish when I started reading it.

It still makes me angry/sad/disgusted thinking about the show.

Let me put it to you this way. Every few years I occasionally re-watch The Sopranos, Deadwood, The Wire, Rome, Mad Men, etc. I never plan on re-watching Game of Thrones on TV, though I will read the books for a second / third time.

Long story short the guys HBO chose to do GoT couldn't tell a good story after they ran out of Martin's material.

I mean how can you even re-watch the show and even care about Jaime.

His whole redemption arch was just tossed aside in the last couple of episodes. Years of building that slow but excellent turn into a good guy only for him to say "You know what? I actually don't care about anyone. Just want to go bang my sister again."

I foolishly held out hope too. I remember this board angry that he just up and left Winterfell for Cersei. I thought it was all a rouse because he was secretly going to go kill Cersei because he believed he should be the only one to do it. That would have been a perfect end to his story. But nope.

Jon ended up being a little b*tch. Jamie same thing. Fraud Cersei same(I’m ok with this). Arya and Sansa in god mode. Tyrion gets rewarded for being shite at his job(so brave dropping hand of king pin). Night King willing to face Theon but not Jon...wtf? Did Mel die....ah, who cares. Hound Ok ending. Brienne honors the guy that betrayed her? Talk about low self esteem. Beta Sam doesn’t even speak up for Jon. Were they ever friends? Why couldn’t Bran die in the 1st episode. That tower that he fell out of should’ve been taller. Clown committee meeting, clown small council meeting

Not to mention the bitch way Littlefinger went out. That should've warned us all the following season was going to be shite.
