It’s hilarious that the episode preview literally was the episode.

The Episode Who Never Was had me rollin

Clearly should've been 10 episodes and should've ended with KL getting sacked after the gullet.

They deserve every bit of backlash they get over this dumb shite.

I have a gut feeling this show is going to end up how GOT did. At first I did not think they could possibly screw this up but the SECOND alicent and Rae meetup leads me to believe otherwise.

Also where tf is Otto? What’s with that random look at him caged up?

How is Haelena suddenly lucid in one episode? Speaking confidently and clearly as opposed to chit chatting with bugs the entire rest of her arc?

In summation: what in the frick did I just watch?

The showrunners wanted 10 and HBO said no, that’s been confirmed. So blame HBO

Not to be the guy hypervigilant about woke but we did not get any battle payoffs this season but we did get a pointless lesbian scene because the nonbinary rhaenyra actress did it in the moment and said “it just felt right”(had no bearing on the plot) and we did get a gender swap with Lohar and of course she’s a lesbo too.

I just can't fathom how we didn't at least get the Battle in the Gullet in this episode. Is that going to be episode 1 of next season? And then they are going to drag out the time between that and the taking of KL until the 4th episode or some shite? Hell at this pace, the taking of KL might be the season finale of next season.

Part of me feels like they should’ve just ended the season on episode 7 with the new riders if they were going this route lol.

No, at this pace we will see the set up for the taking of KL as the finale next season

What a waste of half the season. I thought we were going to see the snowball take off down the hill once we got Rook's Rest, then they spend the rest of the season following a pouting Daemon and explaining the dragonseeds.

This finale was such a waste it left me worried that they are going to somehow manage to screw up A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms too

Maybe the Grand Maester worked up a SSRI draught?

We see Otto Hightower finally, seems he's a prisoner of someone, but we don't find out who?

This one is odd to me. They initially just sent him home to Hightower right? I don’t think I’m imagining that. I don’t recall any kind of threat of imprisonment.

He went home on his own, yes. There were a few lines in the past couple episodes about Otto not responding to messages sent to him.

I also don't remember him ever being imprisoned in the books. I remember that he was sent away but then he was invited back because they finally realized he was the only one with a legitimate plan.

He shouldn't live much longer anyway. Maybe they had him captured just so Daeron could rescue him, to re-introduce that character.

So disappointing. They didn't give us anything. They did cliffhangers for every single plotline. This show was a huge hit and they did this this to it. HBO has financial woes? Know what a good remedy for that is? A huge hit show.

Instead, they gave us blueballs while putting a chick in it and making it gay. I feel like Alys Rivers took over HBO.

I don't understand why they keep forcing these secret meetings between Rhaneyra and Alicent. I could maybe buy that you could smuggle Rhaneyra into King's Landing but smuggling Alicent into Dragonstone? Not long after an assassination attempt?

Alicent straight up serving her son up on a platter so she can run away in the woods with her daughter is something, that's for sure. It's at least on brand for her at this point. There isn't a more selfish character in the whole HotD universe.

I just can't suspend enough belief to imagine that she gets there. Right after Aemond closed the bay off from any ships moving in/out too.

aegon says to larys "my dragon is dead"...
whats going on here?

agree with everyone on the finale, that was a lot of build up for nothing. and threading the show back to the very worst and most reviled aspect of GoT was certainly a choice. had daenerys actually "saved the realm" it would be logical, but...

can we just get a re-shoot of the season 8?
