My only issue is that no dragon in recorded history (that we know of) has ever chosen a rider in this manner. Its fine, I think, but I would like them to try to explain it in some way. If history shows every other dragon ever claimed has been by the human approaching the dragon, why was it different this time?
That's a fair question. My argument is:
1. Despite Dragons being more prolific during this period, we just don't know everything about them. Also for a long time eggs were hatched in the cribs of Targaryens who were raised to be dragonriders, so dragons were claimed pretty quickly. They kind of had a corner on that development. And their Maesters were the ones writing the lore.
2. I'm guessing that the "wild" dragon flying around the Eyrie that has shown up while Rhaena is there may be also seeking her out. So we may see it happen more than once.

one big question I have about this season
the Valeryons are using their navy to blockade King's Landing
this blockade is cutting off supply lines and starving the small folk of King's Landing
everyone is pissed about the blockade and the unrest
why doesn't Aemond fly out there on his massive dragon and burn the ships in the blockade?
seems like a couple of hours worth of work and no more blockade

Keeping in mind I have no strategic real life experience in warfare.
My guess is that it would leave him and Kings Landing open to attack by Rhaenyra's dragons without his own ground support/fleet. The flight from Kings Landing to Dragonstone isn't very far.

Also think Seasmoke was "woken up" a bit with the Valerian and the whole "serve" thing when she roasted the knight. I took it as the dragon was presented with a rider, told to serve, but roasted the rider and went find a proper rider.

Aegon and Aemond have wanted to do that since day 1 but the small council has repeatedly said thats a bad idea. They are currently trying to get a fleet from the triarchy to attack the Valyrian blockade. This takes care of their issue without any risk.
You have to keep in mind that the greens currently only have 1 big dragon and every time it leaves KL its a risk. I agree with you that breaking the blockade should be priority 1 and is worth the risk. BUT as has been shown throughout the show, these are people that grew up during times of peace and have no idea how to fight a war.

sure that could be it, HOWEVUH, the ships are blockading a port so they arent all out in open sea.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you feel like she's out of place?
I don't find her that compelling an actress in general.

Just because you have a nuke doesn’t mean you should use it every chance that you get, especially when your enemy also has nukes.

No it wasn't. She also walked out of the burning building with all the Khals in it. Also took baths in boiling water. I think GRRM even mentioned her being unique in all the GoT universe in that way.

Daemon went to being my favorite character in season 1 to the worst character in season 2. I love Matt smith as an actor but they have butchered his character this season
The showrunners didn't like that he became a fan favorite after season 1.
Fan of this show but this episode was a miss. Daemon stuck in neutral, seasmoke bastard of sea snake scene, Rhaenyra lesbian scene which was utterly pointless.

She was also able to handle the red hot dragon eggs whereas whatsername backstabbing ho got burned.
It was pretty well established on the show that she cannot burn. That's why they needed to do more than just make her go nuts and get stabbed by Jon Snow. Her going crazy made sense, but if you're going to show supernatural abilities like that, she has to basically become Phoenix and die spectacularly. Otherwise, what's the point?

Plus they do not care about what happens to the small folk. Why risk a dragon for a bunch of peasants?

Yeah, dragons are kind of like pieces on a chess board. Vhagar is a Queen piece and the most dangerous and effective weapon on the board but he only has a few smaller pieces on his side and he still has to protect the King. And the opposing lesser pieces on a chessboard (rooks, bishops, etc.) can team up and take down the Queen piece when she is exposed.

so does mysaria fill the role of nettles in this series? doesn't seem like nettles is going to be in the show...should've seen her by now if she was going to be in it. i can see mysaria running off with daemon would turn rhaenyra into the 'mad queen' due to such a betrayal
Posted on 7/22/24 at 11:24 pm to Boodis Man
I find it highly unlikely the dragons would be cool with everybody being hormonesexual

This is a wild guess. It is not established in the books. If there is, the blood would have been even more diluted than Ser Steffon.

Are we all in agreement this seasons gonna end at the Gullet and save the dragonseed betrayals/fall of KL for next season?
I think that's about right.
