The shite with Daemon and his visions/dreams is played out. Get on with it!

Dany surviving fire was

No it wasn't. She also walked out of the burning building with all the Khals in it. Also took baths in boiling water. I think GRRM even mentioned her being unique in all the GoT universe in that way.

I mean it's at least a 2 time thing. Happened in Drogo's pyre and Vaes Dothrak.

Dude George R R Martin confirmed it
quote:
Shaw: Are all the Targaryans immune to fire?
Martin: No, no Targaryans are immune to fire. The thing with Dany and the dragons, that was just a one-time magical event, very special and unique. The Targaryans can tolerate a bit more heat than most ordinary people, they like really hot baths and things like that, but that doesn't mean they're totally immune to fire, no. Dragons, on the other hand, are pretty much immune to fire.

Magical/special/unique
=/=
Luck/fluke.

Luck/fluke.

but, it wasn't a one time thing. 2 flukes?

One time magical event is a fluke lol
I'm gonna go with what GRRM said over what D&DB did in their show

I’m going to go with rare occurrence that needs certain variables (like magic) to occur to facilitate.

I think it was the singing by the dragon keeper dudes. The dragons respond to valyrian speech in alot of ways, daemon summoned vermithor last season but we're kinda in the dark about what happened there. I think tyrion did too in GoT to take the chains off Danys dragons as well.
I think the dragon recognized what the singing was trying to accomplish (prepare for a new rider) and then he turned down the rider and instead went out to find his own. Just so happens he picks a familiar bloodline.
Are we all in agreement this seasons gonna end at the Gullet and save the dragonseed betrayals/fall of KL for next season? Is there enough juice here for 4 seasons?

The issue with that is that we are discussing the shows not the books or what the author said.
If you want to say the showrunners got it wrong, then fine. However, in the show she was immune to fire/heat.

I think House of the Dragon is based off Fire & Blood rather than Game of Thrones

Daemon went to being my favorite character in season 1 to the worst character in season 2. I love Matt smith as an actor but they have butchered his character this season

Alicent keeps getting harsh reminders she's on the no women in power team lol at least Aemond called for Otto's return.
Larys thought it was him for about 2 seconds then quickly realized Aemond isn't as easy to manipulate.

ust a clarifier, Laenor was a Velayron, not Targaryen. A handful of Velayrons were dragonriders, likely due to their Targaryen blood lines (in Laenor's case, through Rhaenys). They were a lesser house in Old Valyria, so they weren't "allowed" to have dragons. But it wouldn't be a stretch to say they have the blood for it, especially since they're often intertwined with Targaryens through marriage.
Weren't Laenor and Laena both half Targaryen since their mother was Rhaenys?

Yeah, whether you're a Targaryen or a Fak, a little haunting goes a long way. They should leave the haunting to "Ghosts". lol
It's a shame. I had high hopes when Daemon showed up at Harrenhal and looked down at Sir Strong as he pledged fealty. He looked really cool in his dragonrider armor, which came as a surprise. I guess I should've known something was awry when wolfgirl from GLOW showed up in the same scene. I get it, she must be an HBO darling, having previously appeared in season 1 of their Perry Mason, but I find her really out of place here.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you feel like she's out of place?
I can agree that they've misused both her and Matt Smith/Daemon at Harrenhal but if there's anywhere a devious woods witch probably fits its at Harrenhal IMO.

Yes. Was just clarifying that they're technically Velaryon (Bert called him Targaryen) and why they didn't have many dragonriders as a household.
There was a comment about whether Addam should be a dragonrider because he only has Velaryan blood (Corlys bastard, not Rhaenys son). From the ASOIAF wiki, Corlys himself has Targaryen blood through his Mother and Father who had Targaryen blood in their Velaryon lines.
