there's still no morally 'bad' or 'good' characters in this show other than littlefinger 2.0

everyone else is still gray, but the show so far (in imo) has been portraying Alicent as the 'babyface' and rhaenyra as the heel.

alicent hasn't done anything at all reminiscent of being a heel. seducing the king was Otto's idea and she had to go along with it.

meanwhile rhaenyra is kinda looking like a f*** up similar to robert baratheon, sleeping around, making dumb decisions, and alot of lying.

Guess I’m too old for this Fast And Furious pace.
Mentioned to my wife last night that there was a lot of stuff happening in this episode.

When she made the call out on Aemond, which I was actually expecting tk happen this episode, I had to rewind to see wtf she was getting at with the centipede, the Bran allusion- if that’s what it is- was subtle as hell.

I wonder if it isn't more about Dany dying without heirs and Jon fricking off to the north and the Targ line ending. The intro is all about the lineage/bloodlines pouring out of the rings that represent the Targs and if Jon has no children, the last ring would have no legs and the bloodline would end.

Like most ASOIAF prophecies, they're certainly open to interpretation

One other thing. Bastards are looked at as tainted. So, it is beneath these high houses to wed their children to bastards.

This isn’t always the case, look at the Baratheon’s for instance. That whole house started as a bastard that was legitimized. In this world, power determines who sits on the throne, and an allegiance of Rhaenyra’s and Allicent’s families would be the most powerful in the realm. Allicent isn’t being motivated by righteousness, she’s being motivated by power.

Side note, I can’t help but think of the Viserys Ben Affleck meme everytime someone fricks up around him and he is just openly like “Y’all are killing me”.

Like when they started going on about the Stepstones he was just like “Fuuuuccckk this again?”

Every. Time.

I don’t know why they want to keep stressing out poor Viserys.

I feel like once Viserys dies, Alicent is going to go full Cersei and try anything to keep Rhaenyra off the throne. Meanwhile Dameon might just sit back to watch or maybe get into the head of Rhaenyra

I continue to appreciate the episode summaries on Daily Mail, because I have major problems with the dark screens. That was even worse with characters being different people and different hair.

Sunday night isn't the place for this series because everybody is miserable and that's no way to start another week.

At no point has anything Alicent(or Rhaenyra for that matter) ever done anything for "the good of the realm."

I'll agree with you that Alicient isn't doing it for the good of the realm. But regardless it is the best thing for the realm that Rhaenyra fricks off and Alicient and her children rule westeros

But it doesnt just work like that, a dragon that loses it's rider would need to choose to take another rider.

Well the 2 options are one of the 2 kids gets the dragon or the dragon runs off for the rest of the series.

I'm going to guess the dragon ends up with the princess' kid who just so happened to show up at the end of the episode and was made fun of for not having a dragon.

Again that could be 100% wrong (I haven't read the book) but that seems to make more sense than Laena's daughter to me based on how this episode went

Loved how giddy Viserys was when all his boys were having a good old-fashioned scrum in the yard. Reminded me of the Addazio "guys being dudes" gif

Seems like Daemon has lost some power. Rhaenyra's baby daddy was the commander of the gold cloaks right? So they no longer belong to Daemon. Daemon's wife dying also costs him lots of support from the Velaryons, especially with the oldest son is married to Rhaenyra. I guess it's possible that Daemon has inherited some claims in the Vale as he mentioned at the wedding. Maybe he has some troops there?

I'm having a hard time remembering which banishment lost him the title of Commander of the City Watch, but I believe it was the time he was caught with Rhaenyra in Flea Bottom. It could've been when he stole the dragon egg and left for Dragonstone.
