The Outsiders main cast except C Thomas Howe was the only one under 18 as he was 16
The Karate Kid Macchio was 23
The OC the main cast was in their mid 20's except for Mischa Barton who was 17 but looked a lot older in my opinion. She was actually the one I thought did not look like she was in HS.

My parents were over a decade apart, but the world was different then, I guess. Dad was early thirties, a vet and established in his engineering career; while Mom was out of high school (and I believe a cosmetologist). But back then, I believe conventional wisdom was for the man to have his shite in order before marriage, and the woman to be an adult and not wait too long.

Outer Banks. The main character is supposed to be a 15 - 16 yr old minor. He was actually about 28 yrs old in Season 1 and you could tell.

It doesn’t matter how old the actors are….what matters is how they look together on screen. For TGM, Cruise looks the same age if not younger than JC…he’s a freak.
One of the more recent movies I thought fit this topic was Heat. Great movie, but DeNiro looks a LOT older than Brenneman so them being a couple was a stretch for me.

I’ve noticed on PornHub that often the actor playing the stepson is about as old as the actress playing the stepmother.

Well, he is 21 years older than her, so that's understandable.
Rear Window paired up Grace Kelly (
) and Jimmy Stewart, who were 25 and 46 at the time. 
Also, Sally Fields and Tom Hanks were an onscreen couple in Punchline (1988) but mother and son in Forrest Gump (1994). The Forrest Gump situation wouldn't strictly meet the criteria for the OP, as Hanks was playing a character from young adulthood through a long time and they were intentionally making Fields older as time passed during the film. Another example would be Harold and Maude, which the extreme age gap was explicitly part of the story.
Bugsy is an interesting one. The real life characters (Bugsy and Virginia) were only about 10 years apart in age, but they cast Warren Beatty and Annette Bening who were 21 years apart (54 and 33). They went on to marry in real life and remain married (31+ years).

His age and how long it took him are actually touched upon.
It’s also why the judge didn’t question his credentials immediately. Imagine some fresh face lawyer trying to convince a judge he had participated in numerous trials, some of which included murder.
The joke was that he spent over 6 years studying for the bar.
