I'm pretty sure I almost got a ban for thinking of posting this quote to Cow Drogo thinking it was this thread when it comes to Beric's sword.

quote:

quote:

How's does he instantly ignite and disignite the sword on the tv show then?
He carries a zippo?

How did Jon Snow get a raven to Dany down at Dragonstone and then she comes back to the Wall with dragons in less than 24 hours despite Dragonstone being a thousand miles away? The best answer is to not think about it.

Almost pressed Enter before thinking "Is this the 3 Eyed Raven thread"?

It's not in this thread dumbass.

It's trying to stop people from you from reading spoilers and trying to earn e-cred by making them your own thoughts.

That's 12 hours of Thrones. I can't see them doing that, but it'd be amazing

Heading to bed, but lets say 15 years ago, could you imagine a scene like Dany coming down with her dragons happening on TV? I think everyone would be like "No way".

Indeed, it's quite the time to be alive baws.

I just watched the leaked episodes. I have not mentally prepared myself for any of the dragons to die. She needs to produce two more to compensate

TV is a million times better quality than it was 15 years ago and movies have become a lot crappier.

And just think how shitty that scene is going to look in 5 years. No hating on it, just saying they continually improve the graphics and cgi and always outdo themselves.

meh, we are at a bottleneck or will be very soon. cgi can only be so much resolution. It's like the 4K vs 1080p debate. Is 4K better? Yes. Is it some major upgrade from 1080p, no.

I tend to agree and doubt it but was reading this.

quote:

Though the episode count has decreased, the runtime will not. While episodes have traditionally been an hour long, the ones in Season 8 are clocking in at 80 minutes or more, according to GoT's sound designer, Paula Fairfield. And apparently the team hasn't discussed a cap on episode length (yet). "Two hours per episode seems like it would be excessive, but it's a great show, so who knows?" HBO's Casey Bloys said.

Game of Thrones has a budget out the arse though. While Game of Thrones has almost certainly exceeded it this season or with Battle of the Bastards, LOST's Pilot was for over a decade by far the most costly episode of TV ever made, and that episode still looks fantastic by today's standards. I can't foresee a show anytime soon that will have the budget of this season per episode.

I really just meant in terms of the scope of CGI. There are blockbuster movies from 5 - 10 years ago that look like shite today compared to similar blockbuster because the technology is advancing at such a rapid pace.

Also - I fricking hope the WOT series gets a decent budget. Not really too necessary in the first season, but hopefully once it catches on they will get it because they will need it.

(I'm afraid that show isn't going to do the books nearly the level of service that GOT is. Hopefully they don't make a complete mess of it)
