Jorah come back right now and interfering with Jon and Dany

Even if they knew what could they do with that information?
I think Tywin would send some catspaw with the Tears of Lys to Winterfell and had them kill a baby Jon. He went all out and Tywin wasn't risking Ned telling Jon about his true heritage. Varys might have him killed as well, but I do suspect Varys in the books does know it.
As for Barristan, I think he would have gone to the Wall after Joffrey dismissed him instead of to Dany.

For someone like Varys who might want to use Jon to hold power, who was left to support a Targ claim that he could latch onto? He obviously had better options to stay in the game than using Jon.
I mean, in the show sure, but in the books the Targaryens are merely a distraction for the Blackfyres.

It seemed like early on any man who died north of the wall woke up as a wight. That is why they burn the dead. There were no walkers around when the first wight showed up.
Take a criminal north of the wall, hang him, put him in a cage and wait for him to get back up.
I was just going to say the same thing. Why risk everything when you can just kill a criminal and wait for him to turn.
Although it doesn't make for a very exciting episode.

So, what was in the box Jorah loaded into the row boat that was going to the ship on the way to Eastwatch? Hopefully some Dragonglass weapons. Because I'd hate to think they are going on that expedition north of the wall with one Valyrian sword and one flaming sword.

Why would 3 of the KingsGuard be with his sister? That is the part that has never made sense to me about the whole thing. If there wasn't someone of the royal family there, why defend them with some of the best swords. They would only go with someone of the royal line

Personally I think Ashara Dayne is the one who tipped off Ned knowing her brother's death was certain and that Ned might see Arthur spared. Once he returns the Sword of the Morning to Starfall, I think Ashara killed herself due to the man she loved killing her brother and thinking it was her fault her brother was dead.

Yes Dragonglass. It clinked when he set it down, and they aren't just going to Eastwatch to head over the wall, its the first shipment of the Dragonglass for weapon making.
It would have been crazy of them to not take some with them when they went north of the wall. I guarantee they all have something.

what was in the box
Edit: Could be weapons, or it could have just been supplies for the trip.

I think Lena Hedley is pregnant so they're writing it into the show.
She isn't going to have another kid, so the clock is ticking on it turning out to be false or Cersei dying (or miscarrying I guess).
"The king will have 20 children, and you will have three. Gold will be their crowns. Gold, their shrouds"
She's already had her three.

Book Barristan does go to Dany.

Yeah, I wondered this as well
if they all don't have dragonglass weapons, that's just bad writing

I'm saying he would have gone to the Wall to defend Jon and tell him about his heritage.

Because that makes too much sense and we wouldn't see the magnificent seven killing WWs and zombies.

i just assummed rhaegar wanted Lyanna protected at the tower by his best men because of course he would and we get to see Arthur Dayne being the most BAMF alive. Which is one of my favorite part of the series so far.

If so, how would that work against the NK trying to reanimate him?
Beric is going to run full speed at the night king and dive into his body, causing it to explode into millions of pieces of digital code. Then something something about Gozar the Keymaster and Zuel, I think.

“Ser Willem Darry is fled to Dragonstone, with your queen and Prince Viserys. I thought you might have sailed with him.” “Ser Willem is a good man and true,” said Ser Oswell. “But not of the Kingsguard,” Ser Gerold pointed out. “The Kingsguard does not flee.” “Then or now,” said Ser Arthur. He donned his helm. “We swore a vow,” explained old Ser Gerold. Ned’s wraiths moved up beside him, with shadow swords in hand. They were seven against three. “And now it begins,” said Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning. He unsheathed Dawn and held it with both hands. The blade was pale as milkglass, alive with light. “No,” Ned said with sadness in his voice. “Now it ends.”
