Dude, I understood she was in a dark place at the start of the episode. I knew there was a breakdown off camera. It's not hand holding to want to see the evolution into madness, it's wanting the emotional payoff the end result deserved.

It wasn't confusing or unexpected, it just wasn't satisfying.

So we get the first glimpse of paranoia in the same episode that she burns a city to the ground.

You’re right. No pace issues there.

I still don't even get what was paranoid about it. She clearly learned that the secret was out about Jon's true lineage. She knows 3 people originally knew the truth besides her. She also knew that Jon said he was going to tell his family and she commanded him not to.

What is paranoid about Jon being her first suspicion?

There is a lot of legitimate criticism about writing and pacing this season by most of the blacklash for this episode is because

quote:

They're losing their shite because their feminist icon isn't the character they wanted her to be.

Which is satisfying to those of us who read the books. I detest how shallow the analysis of the material has become since it’s been absorbed by the masses.

The clues were there all along for Dany to turn mad.

That’s not hard logic to follow. It’s also not hard logic

Everything you listed happened in episode 4. So we go from that to “I’m murdering them all” in one episode.

You’re right. No pace issues there.

Yea whoever posted the screenshot of that girl claiming all the writers are either Trump supporters or Bernie supporters is gold.

Don’t lump me in with that arguement.

But to Dany in her mind it is.

Its the straw the broke the camels backZ

I cant Tell if you want to watch more straws more or the back break in slomo.

A lot of the stuff leading up to this JS been happening for a long timE

She is constantly being advised not to go full Targ the entire series.

And over the last 3 seasons her advisors have been dying and losing her trust. So one but crucial bad moment and what’s holding her back?

:lol

Time to go murder everyone. The fact you don’t see the leap in logic there is your problem.

The whole ducking analogy is that there are a lot of small things that add up.

It’s not “my best friend was killed time
To burn KL”

It’s: ive lost 2 dragon children
Jorah is dead
Missy is dead
My army was decimated defending these people
I did The right thing and now The people I saved like Jon Snow Better
Sansa’s Against me after all I did.
The common folk aren’t flicking to me.
My advisors are plotting against me.
No one in Westeros has accepted me.
All I have is fear to rule on.

The fact that you ignore the logic there is hilarious to me.

Also she is not supposed to be 100% rational to begin with.

A rational person would have rested her army.

Right. Saying they needed to provide more depth to the situation is ignoring logic.

That’s brilliant.

What more depth?

What did you want to see?

More of what?

I see Some people saying they just want to watch dany go crazy longer

Some people are saying they want to see her murder like a smaller amount of kids.

Sorry but I don’t think either of those are good television.

It just reduces drama. And Drama is actually good. If you can get some element of suspense, drama and realism than that’s great. And I think they did all that.

Maybe just a little more than having her fall to madness occur in between episodes, and our most concrete indicators of her losing her mind before committing mass genocide, is people telling us they think she may be going mad?

She was advised to take them prisoner or let them take the black since the battle was over and all the soldiers had bent the knee. She yet again chose violence. I see a pattern.

What does that look like?

I don’t think she’s crazy like hears voices drooling on herself crazy

But mad like hitler’s was crazy why not?

In his mind Hitler thought he was a hero.

He didn’t see himself as a villain.

How about something more than a facial expression from her?

You do realize she gave zero dialogue about losing either of her dragon, Jorah or Missandei, right?

You got entertained by some explosions and a nice long action sequence. Good for you. Many of us watched this show for more than that.

So no scene with Grey Worm?

Who is she supposed to talk to now that Missy is dead and she doesn’t really trust anyone but Grey Worm, noted conversationist.

She was showing grief. TV is a visual medium. If your blind have someone describe to you how she felt about losing Jorah, Missy and. Dragon, because I could see It.

Awesome. A theme I already mentioned as core to the show about 15 pages ago.

What does that look like?

I already provided an example of a change I would have made to make her breaking point int he battle make more sense. Can you honestly not think of a single way they could have fleshed out where she was at the end of episode 4 and her change to i'm going to murder anyone and everyone? Why was it necessary to have that happen completely off screen?

The one where she handed him her only possession and he threw it in the fire?

Man, what depth.

I think She was pretty close to being there at the end of Season 4.

Varys betraying her.
Jon Rejecting her

When she tells Tyrion “future generations” will benefit.
