It was always trending in that direction.
How?
The only time Dany ever killed anyone was when she was personally wronged by them or if they hurt the common people. How is that any different from any other character with power on the show?
- Is Sansa mad because she had Ramsey brutally mauled by his own dogs?
- Is Tywin mad for orchestrating the Red Wedding?
- Is Jon mad for executing a little boy who was manipulated by older men who should know better into joining a plot to kill him?

Overall really liked the episode. Beautifully shot.
Likes:
Qyburn going down at the hands of his own twisted creation.
Clegane Bowl: I knew they would both die but the way it was shot was not what I was expecting.
Drogon like we all said coming in from a really high angle and just decimating the Iron Fleet.
Dany going Mad Queen - It was foreshadowed since the beginning. Dany is for lack of a better word an attention whore. She expects the people to love her as she rides in saving them regardless of the methods. Westeros wants know part of her and the man she loves won’t give her the dick anymore. Her advisors besides Tyrion are all gone along with her best friend. Spoiled brat syndrome sets in and if you don’t love her and kiss her feet she’s going to burn it all down and start over.
The Arya POV of the destruction was intense, since she didn’t kill Cersei I started to think they might kill her off.
Jon literally standing in the ruins realizing he swore loyalty to a mad woman.
Dislikes:
Euron and Jamie fight. Forced as frick for no real reason. Glad Euron died because he sucks as a character.
Where is Yara? Wouldn’t she be there to help Dany?
Not super happy that Cersei got a bittersweet death. I wanted Jamie to have to mercy kill her and then die some other way. It wasn’t awful but could have been better
Even with that said it was by far the best episode of the season.

Cersei made a point of saying the Red Keep has never fallen, so she wiped out that entire city. No one in their right mind would dare stand against her now, because she made multiple offers of peace that had been refused, and so she brought straight HELL down on them.
Never understood why Cersei said that. The Red Keep fell during her Ex-husband's Rebellion.
That's not a nitpick, it's part of the lore.

Hahahaha again with all the wanna be tv critics using words they've only read before and have no idea what it means. Great episode. Can't wait to see the finale!

She enjoyed watching her brother die.
She enjoyed killing the masters
She enjoyed killing the Dothraki who opposed her
She enjoyed killing those who didn’t “bend the knee”
I saw most of these differently than you. The only one of those she clearly "enjoyed" might be her brother.

She randomly picks 163 to represent the 163 kids they crucified
And in tonight's episode, she killed kids. Not randomly, either.
I have no idea how anyone can draw any logical connection between the two actions.

Who is left to oppose Dany? Westeros is about out of troops. Some northern ers left. Iron Fleet gone. Lannisters, Tyrells, Freys, Tarlys gone. Dorne remains.

You can’t oppose her on the battlefield at this point. Short of an assassination it’s over.

Euron swimming ashore at the perfect time to challenge Jaime to a fight was amazing storytelling.

That was a dumb and dumber moment.

I think she has been in a downward spiral for quite some time.
As soon as she comes to Westeros she loses her iron fleet and Dornish support.
She then loses Highgarden and it’s resources.
As her Hand’s strategies prove useless he continues to deter her from just destroying her enemies and getting it over with.
She then loses a dragon north of the Wall.
She is betrayed by Cersei and receives no support to fight the NK.
Sansa is openly opposing her rule over the North.
Jon spills his guts against her commands which creates more dissension.
Our “good guys” did their parts to help this along IMO.

You just suck D&D’s dicks and would support whatever shite they threw at you. Easy to be a genius with retroactive predictions - anyone can say “should’ve seen it coming, so obvious lolol.” I’m not dishonest like that, though.
i wonder what % of the bootlickers were legitimately thinking she'd go mad...
in season 7?
in season 6?
in season 5?
hell, in season 8, episode 1-2?

most of these are totally contrived or irrelevant, as well as Rhaegal's stupid death
your list summarizes just how bad D/D have set all of this up. it has required some of the worst (the 7 samurai north of the wall) and most retarded (Rhaegal dying) stories being forced in to create some sort of justification
hell even the "Cersei betrayed us!" stuff was utterly irrelevant when the NK was made to be a minor blip and apparently 3/4 of her army survived
