I just saw a thoughtful post on Reddit: Moving Rhaegal's death to this episode, right after they ring the bells, would've made the entire thing better. Have Cersei fake surrender, blast rhaegal with a scorpion that was previously hidden, send Dany into a rage burning everyone. We don't get the pirate of the Caribbean...iron isles...defying physics to take him down, we get a reason for Dany snapping, and Cersei thinks she's won momentarily. She isn't left without a backup plan, which was uncharacteristic for Cersei and Qyburn.

I disagree. She still kills innocents in a rage. They don't deserve that just because Cersei killed your dragon. ETA: in my hypothetical alternate ending, that is

I just want to point out, again, that the quality drop is obvious in the show and they still did a decent job with it.
Think about it: You went from GRRM and a saga of fleshed out books over 15 years to the guy who ruined Wolverine in Xmen: Origins and another guy who wrote a children's book

Seeing a replenished Dothraki unit is just silly. If you wanted the spectacle of the lights going out fine. But don't renege on the consequences.
And let's be honest, the only reason they showed those 4 or 5 come back is so that Jorah wouldn't be the only survivor.

Like I said, you have to be wilfully blind to have not seen this coming. It wasn’t rushed. At all. It was inevitable. You just suck at connecting the dots.
There are certainly a number of things to bitch about with regards to this season but I'm completely baffled that people are surprised or pissed with Dany's turn to heel.
As soon as she landed that dragon I told my wife her's the Mad Queen turn.
