about to flip out with the NK possibly killing her.
Not gonna lie, I love Arya, but that would've been awesome if the NK would've just snapped her in half or something like that. It would've shown real consequences for main characters.
I do also agree with RollTide in his thread that it did kinda suck that we've heard for 8 seasons about how badass the WWs are, and they didn't even swing a single sword in this battle. NK never even took it off his back.

A distraction that would warrant Arya sneaking up on the Night King and slipping past 10+ of the baddest things on the planet
But Arya trained to be sneaky, and has been doing sneaky, badass killing for the last 4 seasons. She can, in effect, change her identity. Remember the waif? She would seem to disappear and reappear somewhere else.
Everything did seem to be building to a John / NK showdown, with no payoff. That fits GRRM’s philosophy of unexpected shite happens in war.
The plot armor and Lyanna Mormont hero stuff not so much. I imagine he would have a wight rip her limb from limb in the first 15 seconds of the breach in the books.

Again, my issue is NOT with the cinematography. It was Tier 1 A+++.

they didn't have to show as much b/c of the darkness
I gave them the benefit of the doubt in the early part of the episode because it worked to invoke dread and confusion and all that shite.
But as the show went on, it was just agitating to not know what the frick was happening in certain spots

I definitely wanted to see more White Walkers vs main characters
It makes tactical and logical sense that the higher-ups just let the dead do their dirty work for them, but damn, Hardhome did a much better job of mixing the two, IMO.

So why doesn't she just go over and kill Cersei? Someone explain that to me.
At this point with everything we've seen Arya do, leaving Cersei alive is lazy and stupid.

So what was the purpose of him warging into the ravens for the entire battle?
He only warged into them in the beginning to get the night king to come. The rest of the time he was watching his mom and dad bone in the past.

I think that change is organic, though. A lot of what we loved about the show was wrapped up in the more mysterious elements of it. (Jon's lineage, the threat of White Walkers, how are these things all going to intertwine, etc.)
I said this last week and was downvoted - but there really isn’t much more story to tell - at some point the cliff hangers/surprise deaths/and super complicated explanations have to end.
The ending of GOT was never going to satisfy everyone aka like LOST.
But I will say this: anyone surprised or upset Arya killed the NK is a retard - go back and watch the ENTIRE series from day one. It’s been in our faces the entire time. She was bred/trained to do that - her entire arc is the assassin monster slayer.
The Night King’s, the god of death, Ultimate goal was end the world in nothingness and he was killed by “no one” who becomes death

And the fact that the NK is basically just an equal to the WWs outside of being their leader. Was kinda hoping he would’ve been harder to kill.

I read something that puts it into perspective. Imagine the Night King was like an octopus. Every other wight and WW were extensions of him, a tentacle. He didn't need to swing a literal sword, he was flapping his "tentacles" all over all night

In the first episode of the season she sneaks up on Jon at the exact same place and he says “how’d you sneak up on me”. She knows her way around winterfell and it has been established that she is very sneaky.

The Night King can sense when he wargs and can track him that way. I just assumed he was guiding him to the Weirwood.

we still got 3 episodes
and she almost did go to KL to kill Cersei last season, but chose to reunite with her family instead

This is what I’m seeing too.
As a book reader it fricking blows. Rian Johnson level blows.
Talking to my friends who only watched the show and never read the books they don't seem to mind.
My only hope is that the books are finished one day.

8 seasons of buildup will probably end with Bronn deciding he likes Tyrion more than Cersei, and Tyrion killing her

They did a whole unit on throwing books to distract people. I've seen a lot of people complaining about how Arya got the jump on the NK. Obviously she threw a snowball and everyone looked over there for a second. That's why they showed her throwing the book earlier in the episode.

I'd buy that argument if just the Night King were there.

So dragon fire has no affect on NK but steel forged with dragon fire does?
Don’t know about Valyrian steel being forged with dragon fire. I do know it is forged with magic.

She was on her way there until she runs into Hot Pie and he tells her that the Starks took back Winterfell. It was a pretty pivotal point for her character.
