I do also agree with RollTide in his thread that it did kinda suck that we've heard for 8 seasons about how badass the WWs are, and they didn't even swing a single sword in this battle. NK never even took it off his back.
There absolutely should have been a seen where a WW leading a group of Wights is about to overrun a group of main characters, and they kill he WW and the Wights all disintegrate.
It also should have come up in the strategy session in episode 2 that killing WW kills the Wights they control. That is something that everybody probably needed to know.

and she almost did go to KL to kill Cersei last season, but chose to reunite with her family instead
All I'm saying is, the only logical end of the story at this point, is for Aria to go to King's Landing and stab everyone in the back. Then when John and Danny show up, they face a leaderless army, kill all of them, and sit on the throne. Arya can basically blend into the darkness and do anything she wants. The writers choosing not to have her go assassinate Cersei because they feel like having a battle between humans will be lazy and stupid.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt in the early part of the episode because it worked to invoke dread and confusion and all that shite.
But as the show went on, it was just agitating to not know what the frick was happening in certain spots
100%
i really thought when they lit the moat, that would finally give the lighting and i was like "OK good"
nope

Ayra has become Batman and can do pretty much anything.
Including jumping further distances than LeBron James.

Arya is way OP for the show

You're not allowed to say anything about her 65" vertical.

I can agree with this - there really isn’t much left for her to do other than sacrifice herself to give the hound the upper hand against the mountain.
At this point - her character dying would be fantastic

Melisandre predicted this in Season 3...
"I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me: brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you’ll shut forever."

My question becomes now what was the point of resurrecting Jon Snow?

And she blatantly restated that prediction in the episode. Arya was always supposed to kill the NK. We can debate HOW but the outcome was always going to be Arya being the killer of death

Upvote. Never heard it put like that but thats a good point.
People constantly talk about the drop in writing quality. I had somebody in the episode 2 thread say "you're trying to tell me you think the writing is as good as it was in seasons 1-4???"
No, not at all. I %100 knew that the writing was going to drop off once they had to go away from the books. They no longer had material from some of the greatest fantasy novels of all time to go off of. I mean seasons 1 and 2 had a large portion of it quote for quote from the books. Of course it was going to be better.
But just because its not as good as the early seasons, doesnt mean the show isnt still a really good show.
I can understand why people might not have liked last nights episode. I loved the ending, but it was kind of corny and her giant leap was pretty bad, but my favorite character got to kill the NK so I am good with it. The tension leading up to it was badass and nobody was going to plow their way to get to the NK to kill him anyway so somebody sneaking through was a good option.

I seriously doubt Martin ever finishes the books, but if he does I really hope he writes them with a full satisfying ending vastly different from the show.
It will be. After the credits they talked about writing the ending up themselves and trying to decide who would kill the NK.

A distraction that would warrant Arya sneaking up on the Night King and slipping past 10+ of the baddest things on the planet
She basically learned how function without sight for part of Season 6.

I mean he still did unite and save the North and he became Danaerys' biggest ally.
Oh and hes revealed to be the one true heir to the Iron Throne

So why do we need three episodes to explain what essentially what Aegon the Conqueror did with his two sister wives and no army?

Well everybody would be dead if she left and did that, so it's probably good she didnt.

The rightful heir, baw.
Eggjon, first of his name.
My question is:
If Arya is Azor Ahai...then
Lightbringer is a fuxking dagger?
