I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here, but Cersei pulling one over on Tyrion isn't really true to Tyrion's character. He's smarter than that. He, more than anyone else, knows that Cersei can never be trusted. Not only that, but there's no way Euron sails to pick up an army without Varys knowing something. It doesn't make sense that seemingly intelligent characters this late in the game are so easily fooled.

So when Jon finally finds out his lineage, which reaction does he have?

Was Daario a part of the Golden Company or the Second Sons? Would Daario betray Dany?

She didn't pull one over on Tyrion, she pulled one over on everyone. Not even Jaime suspected Euron was faking nor did he have a clue about the 20,000 merc army from Essos. If he didn't know about this I don't see why Tyrion would. Now I will say that Cersei agreeing to help should have been a huge red flag for Tyrion and honestly seems like an overplay on Cersei's part. They should have come back with just a ceasefire agreement, but I guess they needed a mechanism to make Jaime leave.

I get that, but Tyrion of all people should know that under no circumstances can Cersei be trusted. He's smarter than that.
ETA: It just seems out of character. Maybe (and I'm hoping) that Tyrion knows that she will try to betray them and they are just setting a trap for her. We have been given no indication of this, but it would make more sense.

How long will it take Jaime to catch up with everyone else heading North next season?

Dany said that the Dothraki could make it to Winterfell in a fortnight, so I'm guessing that's how long it will take or less since he's seemingly going alone.

Why doesn't bran just go watch someone forge valaryian steel? Seems like that would be more helpful than wheeling his crippled arse around winterfell

I've read the books (GoT, CoK, and ASoS twice, the others once) and obviously watched every episode of the show, but for the life of me I cannot remember if Bran ever specifically told anyone that he saw Jamie and Cersei in the tower at the very beginning. I'm curious what happens when he and Jamie come face-to-face in Winterfell (assuming that's where Jamie is headed). Does Bran look into the past and realize that Jamie is a redeemable character and keep it to himself?

I get that, but, who's going to kill the Night's King? He appears to be the most powerful person ever.
My own personal crackpot is that Arya will kill him with the Valyrian dagger. Maybe even by wearing the face of a wight (if that is even possible).
Then again, I was sure until the last second that Viserion was going to breathe ice and freeze the waves allowing the AofD to walk around rather than burning through the wall.

What did he have to lose? If she helps...good...if not...well frick but ok.
But its not like he set himself up to be screwed. He threw a hail mary and hoped it work.

Just getting to the thread, what is the vibe everyone got from the finale?
I thought it was good in parts but disappointing in others.
The whole Bran and Sam scene was kind of cringe worthy to me.
It just seemed so odd.

this show has devolved into fanboy fiction and plot devices like this. it's so frustrating
i mean the stupidest plan outside of Dorne in the history of the show (getting a walker to show Cersei) is literally the piece that led to the army of the dead being able to invade. had they just sat tight, there would be no real risk. i mean how stupid do the writers think we are?
the whole part of GOT that made it interesting and worth investing your time in was how it was non-conventional and everyone was in danger. how 3/4 of the characters have extreme plot armor and the plotlnes are obvious, conventional, and downright stupid. on top of this, for a show that requires extreme efficiency moving forward, it's wasting a ton of time on stupidity (arya-sansa bullshite and the theon storyline now)
i mean there are all sorts of loose threads that the writers are just expecting us to ignore. Dorne has an army that is literally untouched from conflict and their leader is being kept by a queen whose army left for months, leaving the capitol unguarded. i mean i understand D/D hate Dorne for some reason, but are they really expecting us to believe this obvious resolution should be ignored? come the frick on

it was legit terrible and inserted for stupid people who didn't understand the reveal at the end of last season
it literally had to be spelled out for the comotose khal dragos, who this show has been warped to cater towards

Sums up the last 3 seasons.

The writing and dialogue has become terrible since the show passed up the books.

i'm not even guessing on that one. the post-episode production stuff had one of the D/D duo saying that was inserted to clarify it

It has, but thats what happens when there is nothing left of Martins work to go off of.
I actually went back and watched a couple of episodes from seasons 1 and 2 and its just not the same.
Not that I'm not entertained, but the vibe is different.
