Jojen Reed is Meera's brother who was helping Bran discover his powers and such and traveling with them.

He died when they got to the 3 eyed Raven and the belief is they ate some sort of paste with his blood to help Bran unlock his abilities

When Bran first got to the cave (or near then) the CotF gave him some weird arse paste to eat. People speculated it was made from the recently deceased Jojen.

I knew that.

that also

the belief is they ate some sort of paste with his blood to help Bran unlock his abilities

was this in the books or the show?

Damn, I must have missed that.

Yep, it would be a bad precedent that could potentially override any character trait or set of circumstances. And I think the writers for this show are smart enough to recognize the potential repercussions and haven't gone down that path.

Shows. Book Joken is still alive, which makes the Jojen Paste theory a bit weird since it seems to work different in the books.

The possibility of Bran's influence on Aerys is a reasonable conjecture given what happened to Hodor but considering the Targaryen history of inbreeding and madness, it would seem more likely that Aerys was simply a product of screwed up genetics.

Can't help but think of the McPoyles from Always Sunny, since their bloodline has been kept pure and clean for a thousand years.

I am hoping that the Arya & Waif showdown happens in Westeros and that is where the faceless men learn she is a warg. Would be bad arse for her to be beaten down only for her eyes to roll back and the waif be destroyed by a dire wolf.

Also the benjen/cold hands thing is pretty interesting to me. Seems his creation into something between a man and a white walker had to do with him first being stabbed by a walker's ice spear then having the dragon glass inserted into his heart to reverse the magic.

I did find it interesting they kept showing Aerys screaming "burn them all!" And then either white walkers or COTF, I think there's some kind of connection

They say there is a fine line between insanity and genius and perhaps your observation suggests that Aerys was seeing visions of the future white walker/wight invasion.

They may not be doing full Coldhands, but this is definitely a nod in that direction.

I think Arta/Waif gets settled before she leaves Braavos though.

Im also still trying to wrap my head around them settling all these story lines in 13 episodes as they're quite a few and if they somehow bring LSH into the fold as Jamie will be in the River lands finally, she may be just a plot device at that point.

I mentioned this last week but seeing how well the Tarly actor did I'll say it again. Eurons speech last week was if not the worst one of the worst performances I've seen on GoT. It was absolutely awful. The writing wasn't the best but the acting was seriously bad. Completely took me out of the immersion.

Did y'all feel the same?

Nope.

I liked Euron a lot.

Euron was okay, but I mostly agree. There's some little extra flair to him that's missing; just a touch more charisma or something that he doesn't quite have. Also, it's a small thing, but I think it bugs me because it's a small thing. No eyepatch?

I still contend that top to bottom, with everything that happened, this is a top 5 episode. I said last night it was the best, but I'm not so sure now. There are so many amazing eps; hard to name any one the best.

Dany's story is literally nothing until she gets on a boat and comes to Westeros and the Iron Islands won't be much more until Euron gets his boats all of a sudden and has a showdown with Reek/Asha.

Jon/Sansa will be wandering doing a check in each episode with a new house until his showdown with Ramsey, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. They will pop up somehow in the Riverlands to help out Blackfish with Jaime and Edmund there too, not sure how that goes, probably just them escaping with Blackfish's army like in the book.

No idea where they take Tommen/Margery from here and that story will determine where Cersei goes too. I would think that the little birds kill Kevan this season but I don't think we see a trial by combat for anyone. I could almost see that if they do a trial by combat, Loras could die in it since he seems to have given up.

All in all, there is a ton of story left but there isn't a lot of show story left. A big war scene or two for King's Landing and a could big war scenes with the Others. Maybe an episode to show where they end up after, but I don't see Jon/Sansa fricking with the south once they get the north back. Their attention will turn to riding to the wall with the full force of the north to fight the walkers.

If anything, I feel this season has really delivered for me, so far.

Already better than season 5 (and not knocking 5, it was still good)

So you guys have knowledge of Coldhands even though Bran's story is now past the books. How and when was Coldhands introduced in the books. Was he there to help Bran as this Benjin/Coldhands hybrid appears to be? I like the fact another Stark has shown up even if he is mostly ice zombie.

So maybe this has already been discussed in previous threads and I missed it, but is the show about to make it so that Sansa wrote the Pink Letter? It seemed so from the "Next On" clips, or maybe I interpreted that incorrectly.

Sorta. I didnt like how they watered Euron down and turned im into a redneck-esq idiot. He is one of the most mysterious and threatening characters in the books but in the show they just ruined him IMO.

D&D said Ramsay wrote it.
