Psych I think I do remember hearing her say she was familiar with moontea or something along those lines, I could be wrong. Id get further into it in the book thread, don't really go further in here

If so, they likely included it in the tv version to further drive home the point that all true offspring of Baratheon/Lannister pairings have had black hair.

in the series Cerci says she gave birth to one of Robert's legit heirs that died in infancy, so no Joff was not born yet. a slightly different version was mentioned in the books
ETA I found it. Robert got her pregnant only once and Jamie found a woman to "cleanse her"

Show me one spoiler I posted. Please. I mentioned 2 characters I like in the books. I hardly call that a spoiler but ok. I erased the names. Some of you are so sensitive lol

I agree. I've yet to see anything anyone has posted that was an actual spoiler except for one instance and that was by someone that wasnt mentioned at all.

Are people against learning what was different from the show and the novel, post episode? As in, xyz passage was done differently in the novel than what HBO just presented?
Posted on 6/13/11 at 9:01 pm to ATLienTiger
I guess they are, cause thats the only thing thats been mentioned. no one has said anything other than that and what characters are their favorites.

Yes, that was said a few pages back. Some are enjoying the show on its own without worrying about the books. Some people just don't have time to read the tomes. Either way, the story is strong.
They are missing out by not reading, IMHO, but this thread is about the show, not comparison / contrast, so my opinion is neither here nor there.
That said, I think GRRM's hand is very heavily involved in this show and I think HBO would be smart to let him continue to helm the creative reins as he sees fit so to keep the shock values and unexpectedness of his story intact.

You can read a lot in 10 hours...
And I agree about letting GRRM stay so heavily involved. If I remember correctly he actually did a good amount of script writing in hollywood at one time.

Didnt he write the screenplay for the 8th episode?
Posted on 6/13/11 at 9:19 pm to CottonWasKing
dunno but I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't think anyone mentioned it yet but a hint in the first episode about deaths was given when they found the antlers of an elk in the belly of a dead direwolf... hindsight being 20/20... which makes the one dead direwolf pup an interesting event now (just a guess)

you have no idea how hard it was to keep my mouth shut about that watching the 1st episode with friends

anyone have any idea on the ratings yet I looked but couldn't find anything on episode 9

Thought about that both when it was first mentioned in this thread that people would be surprised at a death (around episode 3), and after I read the beheading of Ned in the book. The foreshadowing was nice there, the stag and direwolf grownups cause the death of one another (Robert drags Ned to king's landing, and Ned's snooping at king's landing gets them both killed).
I wondered if the killing of Lady meant Sansa was going to bite it, but now I think it just means she didn't hold the loyalty to the Starks, both in turning her back on Arya early on and turning in the plans for escape to Cersei and Joffrey recently.

ANY comparison to the book shouldn't be in this thread
Disagree. Trivia like the whole store about Tyrion's wife, or how Tyrion had a bigger part of the battle are interesting.
Just don't discuss the future. Or anything that hasn't been shown yet. Or favorite characters from other books, etc.
This isn't that frigging complicated people.
