Seriously. Are they just repeating their same lines while Disney paints over their characters kinda like... the original?

Wow this is so realistic now that we have live action coconut pygmies and not that silly animated version of them.

Make it make sense

It’s a relatively new movie that just had a half decent (if should’ve been a series instead) sequel on D+. No idea why they felt the need to revisit basically the exact same thing. Moana was a GREAT Disney movie in the classic heroine sense. They should’ve let it breathe and made a NEW princess movie.

For the life of me I don’t get why they’ve abandoned the princess line of movies. You’ve had multiple groups of girls go from birth to kindergarten without one.

They will get their $120 or so bucks out of me this week. Talking granddaughter and a couple other families to see it.

Its a movie to entertain kids. Nothing more. And kids will be entertained and love it.

They’re torn over how to race swap Tarzan and still make him act like an ape.

If Disney wants to do something somewhat interesting

Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Treasure Planet

Both would be good live action movies

Other than that...stop...come up with something original for a change

i heard about it through a GMA interview and saw who was playing Moana in her yellow dress. I became more interested in seeing it.

My nieces, whom absolutely loved the original movie. Those girls probably forced me to sit through that movie endlessly when they were younger.
I asked if they wanted to see the new live action one. Nope, they said it looks weird and that the Rock looks scary in it.

Looks like they failed to get their actual targeted audience excited for it.

Rock had a hell of a run in hollywood but he might want to take a few years off at this point.

I'm actually surprised Supergirl made over 100 million. I don't think you could pay me to watch that.

It was supposed to be a series, but Disney felt the need to rush it into a movie either trying to hit a deadline/budget or because they needed to release something and this was the closest to being ready.

The dumb part is they could take a movie like Moana and turn out a bunch of different mini-series sort of like they've done with Rapunzel, Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and I'm sure there are many others

Did not realize this, just looked it up and Raya (2021) was the last official Disney Princess.

That’s who voiced the cartoon Moana. The one who they casted for the live action just doesn’t look right IMO.

Right and I don’t think there a bunch of Raya dolls out there

My daughter was 5 when it came out had unlimited access in Disney plus and I believe watched it once to the best of my knowledge.

I’ve actually liked a lot of the live action Disney movies and the original Moana is objectively an awesome kids movie. When my kids want to watch it I’m not bothered, interesting enough story, funny moments, and GREAT music, has to be there for best music in a Disney movie.

No idea why they did this remake, the original was visually awesome and it was never going to look as good in “live action” full of CGI, made no sense

And largely forgotten by kids. A middle aged dude on a message board not exactly the target audience.

Well, yea. You have no idea how good the movie should be and how shite a live version of it is.

I’m told that Dwayne doesn’t put much energy into playing the demigod character Maui . Which seems a bit surprising as he’s basically a stage actor by trade.
